Needs some info on good places for grub. I'll be flying in & out of Orlando, with a visit to Epic at Didney World & Cape Canaveral being definite stops. I might make a trip down to Key West or somewhere around there if I can get confirmation that there's some good snorkeling to be done down there at the beginning of October.

If you like to snorkel get to Key West. Some of the best snorkeling can be found out at the Dry Tortugas. Awesome day trip. White beach, Ft Jefferson, snorkeling, etc. Go big and take the float plane trip out there and back.

I got nothing for you at Disney.

Do one of the behind the scenes tours at the Cape. Gets you away from the crowds and you get so see a ton more than just driving by on the tram while a 16 year old points out bldgs.

From there make a stop at Ron Jon's surf shop. Then head south to Melbourne on your way to Key West. If Pop's Casbah is still open STOP and eat. Decent air boat tours of the St Johns river can be had just west of Melbourne. Then south of Melbourne on the coast stop at Sebastian Inlet. Tons of surfers will be out, but check out the inland side where the water is calm and you can walk for miles in the clear shallow water.

Haven't been to Florida in about 20 years and have no desire ever to return.

That being said, I remember a place in Titusville called Dixie Crossroads that was pretty awesome. I suppose it's probably considered a tourist trap but the rock shrimp, corn fritters and key lime pie are all worth the effort.

Just be sure not to make anybody feel threatened in any way, or you might leave in a pine box.
