How bad is Cal?

What up, Toodles?

From what I've seen of Kal, they have about the worst defense in the country. Northmidwestern and tOSU scored pretty much at will, which is bad. But Portland State -- the same Portland State that went 3-9 in FCS last season (albeit playing in the toughest FCS league, but 3-9 nonetheless) dropped 30 on them.

So if Teams like Northwestern and Portland State are dropping big numbers all over them, what's going to happen when they visit God's Gift To Offense? Tennessee was lucky to have the dogs called off early, and only gave up 59. Tennessee's defense is clearly better than Kal's.

Sure, Kal will be the best offense Oregon has faced so far, I grant them that. Heck, they might even be able to break the 14 point barrier.

But they're going to give up over 60... no ifs, ands, or buts.

So my question to you, M2 -- what do you want to bet?

You name it.

1 week sigs? 1 year sigs?

Name your terms.

Kal kicked 3 FGs to Oregon's 1 so clearly the Bears won the game.

California has more letters in its name than Oregon; therefore, cal wins another championship.

Current line is 34.5... and moving up quickly.

One of the most pass happy teams in the country (58 Attempts per game) is playing the team with the best secondary in the country, in the loudest building in the conference (if not the country).

I don't see this ending well for the Ren Fairs.

Only good betting line is will there be more Oregon TDs or traffic fatalities from people heading back to Portland after a 7PM game.

Damn, Kal should be good for at least 35 incomplete passes. Oregon will score on every possession in less than 2 minutes, and average a first down per play. Can anyone say "5 hour game"? Should end around 3AM Eastern Time.

On a sidenote -- Oregon's last turnover was in the loss to Stanford last year.

Being the defending MNC's for the last 26 straight years... we're going to have our hands full going up against the #2 team in the Nation up there in Canada. From what I hear, it can get loud up there with all those geese flying around.

If it takes Oregon more than 4 plays to score on their first drive, I will be satisfied.

More than 7 plays and I will be very happy.

If we force a FG I will be ecstatic.

If we force a punt or turnover on downs... I will die from erotic asphyxiation.

That being said, we're about to release Lasco "The Texas Tornado" on Oregon this week.

He hasn't been able to play much since getting to Cal due to a shoulder injury which he had surgery on and is now fully healed.

It's nice to finally have him hit the field... and he has some interesting things to say about the game after yesterday's practice.

Bulletin board material ???

He's a confident young man, to say the least.

Having not been able to see the field much at Cal due to injury... here's a clip of him from high school a couple of years back.

He's a big boy... and was one of the fastest high school kids in Texas.

This is against some of the best high school competition in the state of Texas.

Cal state Eugene won't have much film on him... and I think they'll be in for a shock in a few days.

Don't need to pimp a guy like that. He's leading the nation with 82 all purpose yards and 0 TDs per game.

Please, Oregon, just do it.

If you're surprised Northwestern dropped points on Kal, I'd have to question your cfb acumen. They've had good offenses for several years now, and they did a number on Cal without half of their two-headed qb system. Maybe not Oregon good, but they're pretty good. It's that whole stopping the other team from scoring thingy they tend to struggle with.

What the fuck are you babbling about ?

Northmidwestern's offense only put up 30 points on a Cal defense that was missing half of their starters (5 players) not to mention their best player(McCain) was ejected from the game with a quarter to go for hitting their back-up QB too hard.

Hell, cal state Portland was able to put the same numbers.

Northmidwestern is not a good football team.

The best teams I've seen from the BG1... are Ohio State and Minnesota.

... and I'd likely take Minnesota in a game against Ohio State... if Braxton was the QB.

Just like Northmidwestern... Ohio State's back-up is better than their starter.

Update -- Looks like the remnants of Typhoon Pabuk will be rolling in right around gametime. Actually it's rolling in now, but should peak around gametime.

Keep airing it up, Kal. Your QB is so good, 50-60 MPH winds shouldn't be a problem for him.

Ya think ?

Nothing like playing a game in the remnants of a Japanese typhoon to slow down a couple of the best offenses in the country.

Total yards:

Oregon 381

Cal 325

Of course, Cal did something I've never seen before in a college game (which played a part in Oregon not getting many yards).

Turning the ball over on their first 4 possessions of the game and giving Oregon a 20 yard field to work with on each possession (didn't work out well).

Kinda hard to rack up the yards... when you only need 80 to get 28 or more points.

Look, you fucking hillbilly... I have no control of the idiot coach (Jerry Kill) and his decision no to play their best QB in the game.

If Kill would spend less time "flopping" around on the ground... and more time coaching the team. He most likely would have had enough of his "senses" to realize he should be playing his best QB (Mitch Leidner) and not that shit QB he paraded around as his starter against Iowa.

If "shakes" had half a brain... he'd be playing the guy on the right.

2 dreadful defenses, for sure... like Big12 bad.

We seen what Oregon did to Kal's D in a freaking typhoon -- goodness knows how many yards they'll rack up on Wazzu.
