I picked this up on Monday and am already ofer a third of the way through it (a small feat in my house with two kids under 3 years old).

So far they've covered:
-Mike Leach's career through his termination (a later chapter is devoted to him being hired by Wazzou)
-College football hostesses
-Dave Brandon and his vision of branding
-UT recruiting as told by “The Man” (big time recruit/player). Focus on a former UT player hot spot that is a strip club
-BYU rape
-Towson University making the leap to 1A
-Tressel’s fuck ups at OSU and his return in 2012
-The guy who kept all the UT players in line called “The Janitor” who was later fired for sexual harassment
-Bronco Mendenhal rebuilding BYU

Later chapters are about tutors who fuck players, boosters, walk-ons, playing through pain, AD's points of vies, Saban, NCAA investigations, recruiting (Ricky Seals-Jones) and players decisions to go pro or stay another year.

This is an excellent read.

Is it really breaking new ground?

Breaking new ground? No. But it provides context and depth to stories we’ve read about and gives you a background on the players and/or coaches that may not have been known. For example, I think we all heard about the Tennessee hostesses who got in trouble for driving to a recruit’s game. But the back story as to why, who told them to do it and the aftermath was very interesting.

That's a whole 'nother book.

Jealous someone is actually using their journalism degree to make money?

What's worse; someone who goes to a school and uses their degree for what it is intended, but roots for a different team, or someone who goes to a school, majors in a dying field and then taps out because they aren't good enough to hack it in the field they chose?

Why would I be? I use the degree I paid for, and root for the team I want. I win.

My alma mater doesn't have a football team so I'll root for whoever the fuck I want. If it pisses someone off then good.

Seriously? If Cal was dirty, they wouldn't be so bad.

You miss the point, idiot. No wonder you root for ND.

I can see why you failed so miserably in your chosen field. First, while it doesn't take a lot of brain power to be a journalist, you allot a large portion of your double digit IQ to holding silly grudges that you have no chance of changing. But continue on with your path. It's done wonders for you so far. You're living in an apartment in a shithole of a city doing something you didn't intend to do while you get your ass beat every time you hit submit on a nothing message board. Congrats.

People root for ND for 2 reasons

either...
...they were fucked in the ass and forced to suck dicks when they were young boys
or...
...they like to fuck young boys in the ass and force them to suck their dicks

There are no other reasons, they may try to tell you they grew up catholic, they are irish, they like french churches, they enjoy cheering for a murdering coach.... but those are all cover stories that their therapists have helped them create to cover up the truth. Football games in South Bend are just one giant NAMBLA convention. Every time that leprechaun cheers, some little boys butthole was penetrated by a priest or domer.
I can see that seperation anxiety is starting to take hold. Don't worry, pop a Prozac and hope that junior sneaks in an extra soiled jock the next time he visits home. This one, just for daddy.

No bitch, you miss the point. If every person only rooted for the school they attended most schools wouldn't have very many fans. Why don't you go to one of your schools football games and poll everyone that didn't attend the school, then throw them out of the stadium because they don't fit your criteria for what a fan should be.
Schmick....you're just an asshole.

Anything in there about the phenomenon of oversigning? How 'bout the Cam Newton sweepstakes?

Ooops sorry, not relevant to the title of the book.
