Service academy football games have been put in jeopardy by the government shutdown.
An Army spokesperson tells FOX Insider Greg Couch "it's possible" this weekend's service academy football games could be postponed or canceled by the government shutdown.
Saturday’s Navy-Air Force game in Annapolis, Md., is already sold out. The Department of Defense announced that it has suspended all intercollegiate athletic competitions at its three service academies.

What could be more essential than college football?!

^^^ What dude said.
Don't get me wrong, the less the government does, the better off everyone is. I'd love to see them shut it down by another 75%.
But fucking with CFB to spite people... we'll remember this at the next election. Vote every candidate with an "I" next to their name... blindly. Will they really do worse?
BTW - fuck you, JSC. Take it to a different forum.

Dunno. Was it the one the refuses to consider a reasonable compromise to continue to fund our government; or was it the other that wanted to allow individuals to take advantage of the same one-year exemption that Big Business currently enjoys AND to ensure that Congress and our President live under the same health care mandate as the rest of us? Ponderous, indeed...
*'Pologies to Dins...

It's also all bullshit since Navy and Air Force have athletic departments that are privately funded, meaning they aren't using any government funding.

I guess with the government shutdown we no longer need to pay taxes. Seems like a reasonable tradeoff to me. 8-)

I thought this thread was going to be about Mizzou being 4-0 but instead it's about politics? For shame, Tru, for shame.

Not so fast my friend. AF does have DoD funds I their athletic department. But not to worry, they found a sponsor today that is picking up the full $241K cost of the trip back east. Some of you may have heard of the company, USAA.
