Oh, just some stinky ass Michigan) vs. Oakland (I give up, just shoot me). This is the worst final 5 evah (Chowd style). Thank God hockey started this week. Someone please PM me when the World Series is over. I don't have enough bile to watch this trainwreck.

Sort of partial to the Oakland A's myself.

I cut a week of my senior year in HS to see them play the Reds in 1972. Drove over the Dumbarton Bridge to Walnut Creek and took the newly opened first BART line to the Oakland Coliseum. Good times back then.

I'm also *sort of* glad the Dodgers advanced. It just gives me hope that they can produce an even more spectacular flameout at some point.

What were your hoping for - the Yankees? - the Indians?

If they are so bad ass, why can not their ownership manage to get some kind of a deal done on an actual baseball stadium ?? Maybe because their gate does not justify it ?? Nor does the Raiders gate either ??

Nothing says professional sports better than watching a game on a field that has just been trashed by the Raiders, and then try to play baseball on it, and nothing says NFL football like having the skinned area in the field. That stadium sucks big time.

It has been a brief stopping point in the career of many MLB filed grounds managers who quickly bailed to real ball stadiums. I was at a seminar for MLB level field managers there many years ago, and the manager at the time, who is now at a respected west coast venue, prefaced the presentation with a disclaimer about the dual use of the field. It is a horrific job to convert that stadium back and forth.

Fuck Oakland.

Oh, jerkoff, why don't YOU pony up the cash so both the gAy's and the Duhs can have their own stadiums? You'd think a puckered assholed kook like yourself would be all about rich pro sports owners having to share stadiums. If those ground crews don't like it, they can find other jobs or work for other teams. Free market, right?

Die in a gun cleaning accident.

Gotta root for the Tigers, if only because of Jim Leyland. The guy does have a decent track record.

I could see the grounds crew taking a beating from the fucking cry babies that are MLB players. Heaven forbid they have to field a grounder on something less than a PGA tour worthy green. Now, playing football after a baseball game shouldn't be much of an issue. But football to baseball, let the whining and crying begin.

Good man. You know what? I take back everything one or two things I said about you.

If the Tigers lose tonight, I guess I'll root for the A's, despite the fact I wish Reddick and Balfour died in a burning tower of AIDS. Because I'm sure as shit not rooting for the Boston YAFJs and I have no love for anybody in the NL.

If the Tigers take care of business, we'll have one hell of a blue blood final four on our hands. Arguably the best four teams in baseball in the LCS...pretty much never happens. Although with Cabrera still mightily hurt, you could argue the Pirates or the team Cabrera is playing tonight are one of the four best.

Yeah what ever..bad ass...hell they are a medicore team at best whose marquee pitcher is some fat spic that is about 58 years old ??

And it is spelled " gauge". Not wanting to go all spelling smack on you, but in this case it is fairly important. Minus one for street cred for misuse of "gage".

Pretty much spot on. Baseball is the second most intensively maintained turf in sports. At the MLB level, you have to make sure everything is perfect. The mound is perfect, the first base and third base lines must have an exact 1/4 minus grad to foul one week , and then they want it changed back. There needs to be solid footing in the grass at all time. Clay on the batters box needs to be perfect. Fucking crybabies big time.

Oakland has had a huge turn over during the last 20 years. Grounds Managers are no different than coaches. Some of the best in the business have started there and are in places like Colorado, Arizona, Minnisota. You have a few years and can expect to move every eight to ten years.

That being said, it is still better than that abortion of a synthetic field at Tampa Bay. Going to football after baseball is just paint the football lines and walk away. Depending on how fast you have to flip the field back, expect some all nighters if it is less than 3 to 4 days.

Spinning like a fucking tweaker on a full gram high this afternoon. Hang on, you will come down in a couple of days. There are no gun cleaning accidents. That is merely another term coined by the liberal mind set to impinge gun owners. Just like those Tea Party morons that are getting government disability checks that your home boy Mikey is talking about.

Just fuck off now.

I don't need to call you a fucking idiot. The 96 wins and two straight division titles can do that for me.

Sure..why not. What are the A's doing this morning ?

The AL West is such a competitive division.

Rooting for the Tigers for two reasons:

1. 100 years ago, back when Wolfman was still young younger than he is now, my uncle played minor league ball in the Tiggers' farm system.

2. I can't bring myself to root for the AL version of the Cubs, or for any team in the NL for that matter.

That said, I haven't yet watched a minute of the postseason and probably won't. It's not the same with my Yankees out of it.

I've always been kind of a closet Cards fan so I'm hoping they can pull off a win in the NLCS....never liked the Dodgers....as for the AL, since instigation of the designated hitter rule I'm not much of a fan of the AL and I could give two fucks about either Boston or Detroit.....but if I had to pick one it would be the Tigers

Well, being up 2-0 doesn't suck. While this series is far from over, and the bats have been a little silent, this series does look good for the Cards.

As someone said in the baseball forum, there's something about that team in October.
