Maybe it's an idea with appeal that's come & gone - a quaint notion that was fun in days gone by but is now simply lame. To some, I'm sure it's always been lame.
Or maybe not. I'll let you be the judges.
What say you on a DC Trollstop in April? Nice time of year out here, around the time the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Weather is typically fair, at the beginning of baseball season. If the Nats are home, perhaps we can take over a section of seats for a game. As it stands now, the 411 is to do it the weekend of 4/11, which is mamamustanger's birthday and the weekend before Easter. About 5 months away, long enough for the few of you who may be willing to travel to make arrangements. The trollstops I've attended have usually been good times, and mama & I can prolly put together an agenda that would make things fun for those who make it out here.
I say let's do this.

You got nads for even thinking about it, but I'm open to the idea. I was at the huge SmackChat/Elba SoCal thing back in 1998. Met some cool folks and had a great time. Might work with those who show up for tunes on the radio/chat. Not so sure if that is a good time of year for me, but I'll take a look at my resources and long range plans.

It was something mama, Mgo, 88, and I were tossing around last night before chat shut down. I dunno, maybe it was too many Stellas that made me think it was a good idea, but it didn't seem like a terrible one after I woke up. I believe it could have some potential, for both huge laughs and catastrophe.

No Nats in town on 4-11 weekend. 4/4 is home opener weekend with a 3 game series against the Braves. The weekend after 4-11 is Easter. Not going to get many people in that weekend, even if it is the Cards. The next weekend when the Nats are in town is 4-26 with the Padres. Not sure if I am going to be able to do this or not. It depends on my working conditions.

We can do it 2 weeks later when the Padres are in town (could lure trev that way, which could get mvscal & Shlomo out here, too), or stick to the schedule and not do a ballgame.

If I had a reason to be out on the east coast, I'd be in. I would've suggested having the party in Screwballs laundry room, cause I'm ghetto like dat.

Negligible risk for the potential payoff.

I would love to come to one. The OL and I have been talking about going to DC for awhile. Doubt she'd have any interest in meeting you miscreants though. She is way too much of a prude. Probably wouldn't much care to find out that her precious son is an interwebs meme.

The weekend of 4/4 works better, and as Bri mentioned it's the weekend of the Nats home opener.

Just leave her & CB in the hotel while you're getting hammered with the trolls. Or better yet, put 'em on the Metro & let 'em take their chances on surviving & finding their way back.

Definite maybe here. It'll depend on the following factors: (1) availability of funds; (2) work schedule around that time; and (3) how my son is doing then. Not necessarily in that order of importance (sorry to burst your bubble, AP).

^^^This is why I can't hate Screwy.
I'll go if Goobs goes. Wiping my ass on the head of a 95 year old cripple would make my day!
Wiping your fat ass at all would probably require help from your attendant.

How could one not have a good time with Jsc totin' a diaper bag & Shrub singing show tunes while stumbling our way down Bourbon St? Or defacing sacred burial sites with "Rack the Trolls"?

Does this count? Not exactly an ancient burial site, but crap that came from my neighbor's building project.

Looks like $275 for a flight to Dulles might just be do-able. Can I sleep on your floor, Smackie? I'll buy your beer...

Spray and Carson and I will have to load up in my old VW van. We'll have to take off work a couple weeks to drive up there.
You guys pretty good mechanics? We may have a few breakdowns on the way.
Naw, y'all just meet up in B'ham and jump on the train late one afternoon and the next morning will find y'all in DC. That way y'all can get an early start on the festivities and not worry about the 1100 mile drive. Plus with your senior discount it will be very affordable.

A train ride sounds good, but not very practical for me if traveling to DC, since the only trains out of here run east/west. To take a train to DC, I'd probably have to go through NYC. That probably means about 10 hours (if I'm lucky) in the train, together with a layover of who knows how long. Compared to 6-7 hours by car . . .

Terry in your case I suggest United Airlines.
$180 will get you a round trip ticket that weekend. Why drive 6 to 7 hours when an hour and a half flight gets you there faster?

$377 SFO to IAD on Virgin.
$438 from SBP to IAD on United.
The 3 hr drive is not worth the 61bucks.
