I'd buy poptart and Wags a pint anytime, pure class. Trev's crazy and shutyomouth's too southern.

Yeah, I'm your bro', Mgo.

But your beloved Grandmother is my sis', bless her heart -- leaving much of her estate for her God Hates Fags church.

Image

Why leave it for her children?

A son will fritter it away on booze, smokes, pornography, $3.99 per minute websites, sex toys, dope - perhaps, ballgame tickets - which glorify violence and are a celebration of testosterone.
A girl rips right through it on slut-wear, forbidden earrings, unnecessary home appliances - like a washer and dryer. Wash it by hand and hang it, Princess. It won't kill you.
A grandkid blows it on a stupid Xbox -- the tool of the devil.

I'd like to shake her hand.

One day I'll see her.

It's good to make this list but even better is knowing that w/o Mgo's radio show, I woulda' never heard of this band. And not just me, I hooked some friends at work up who had never heard of them either and now I'm on their RL bro list, if I wasn't already.

Please make it stop.

The vocals never find the correct key EVER, and there's more wrong notes hit than correct ones.

Wasn't a fan 15 years ago, and nothing has changed. Every live clip I've ever heard hasn't just been bad, it's been fucking awful.

I suppose they are an acquired taste and if all I had ever heard were their live stuff I might not be sold either. Perhaps they are more of a studio band, I dunno, but they do a passable cover of "Free Bird". Just the mere thought of somebody trying to do that pisses me off but they somehow pull it off.

Dude clammed the 3rd and 4th notes from the start, made a few measures then clams it again. Cannot even get one bar without sounding like that ??

Either you underestimate screwy's jizz cleanup skills or you have to carry around your sack in one of those giant dump trucks they use in strip mines.

It's the latter. Here is MGO from a photo taken a few years ago:

It is a bad comparison, and I like Neil Young quite well. You asked me to please make it stop and since you asked so nicely, that's what I did.

Tone deaf? You really asked for it, feller.

Here's the studio version I think Mgo first played in chat radio that had me scrambling to find out more about this band. And hey, they're pretty close to being a U&L band. Give it a listen.

Don't bother, Wags. Why make it some pursuit to get others to like what you like? Especially when their mind is already made up, and not out of any genuine hatred for the thing they're insulting, but out of their constant need to play the role of contrarian. It's an attention whoring thing.

LOOK AT ME! PAY ATTENTION TO ME AND MY SUPERIOR OPINION!! YOU CAN'T LIKE SOMETHING IF I DON'T LIKE IT!

Besides, I've seen Dinsdale's, uhh, pedestrian taste in music. Whatever he doesn't issue is reason enough for me to give it a listen.

Yes it is... since about the mid-90's. They ain't exactly new on the scene, and I'd love to like them, since they play shows here quite frequently.

Wags -- if a band sounds good in a studio effort, and struggle to hit one right note on stage... guess what?

And I won't say anything yet, since the deal isn't sealed, but I might well be issuing an awesome band tomorrow in a small club that belies their popularity (for all of 3 bucks, no less). Hopefully, they're not a product of studio tricks (although I guess Danger Mouse is a good guy to mask a lack of live ability).

I'll keep you posted, since you care.

BTW -- amazing array of shows here this month.

They're a great live band. You wouldn't know that because you haven't seen them 'cept for a couple grainy YouTube vids, which clearly makes you an authority on their live performances.

Doug Martsch isn't exactly a classically trained vocalist, no arguments there. BTS are just a bunch of balding, bearded old dudes who like to rock out. They aren't trying to win any contests on The Voice.

You can have your polished cookie cutter rock. I prefer a more raw sound. Different strokes.
