Left Seater, what's your take on this video?

Post by poptart »

Of note...

- At 1:58 a yellow circle appears southeast of Flight MH370

- At 2:03, it changes to a plane and ZIPS off northeast at a MUCH higher rate of speed than any other plane on the radar

- At 3:09, that plane disappears from radar

- Then 5 seconds later (3:14) Flight MH370's makes a quick jerk to the right and immediately shows an altitude change from 35,000 ft to 0 ft

- At 3:24 Flight MH370 completely disappears from the screen

Way to early to tell.

Could be like AF from Brazil a few years ago. Could be terrorist, there were multiple reports that stolen passports were used to board that flight.

I do know that 777s are one tough mofo. See the Asiana sea wall crash at SFO last year.

You might want to get LTS's opinion because he might know about those rockets used on 9/11 and the drones that fired them.

Most likely what we see on that radar site is the plane breaking up. Those sites don't take a continuous radar feed. Instead they take snapshots at certain intervals and make assumptions to fill the gaps.

They were at 34,000 feet when it disappeared. While I'm not familiar with how radar tracks aircraft, it would seem that at that altitude the plane would have registered at some point on it's way down the decreased altitude & speed.

Looks an awful lot like somebody blowed it the fukk up. No bad weather in the area as with the AF Brazil flight. Is it possible there was a fuel tank explosion as there was, allegedly, with the 747 that vaporized off Long Island. I never have bought that explanation as jet fuel is really not very explosive, compared to gasoline.

If it blew up, there would be a good chance of a huge debris field... hear that there is only an occasional oil slick that they're finding.

If it went down whole, radar would have followed it all the way to the drink.

Which was sort of my point.

Unlikely the fuel tanks blew as most now have a nitrogen gas feed to fill the tank as the fuel is consumed.

Let's alson not confuse the radar available to ATC etc, with web flight tracking/radar programs. These free versions often may only take a snapshot every 60 to 90 seconds to reduce the server needs. The computer then fills in the space between these shots. A plane that suddenly nosed over might only get one more snap shot before hitting the water. The computer may not know how to handle that either as it is outside of norm.
