The Bible revolves around three main "characters," and not coincidentally (imo), they are revealed in the first three verses of Scripture.

Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

God, the Creator of all things.
Satan, darkness.
Jesus, the Light.

The Light is necessary, or darkness reigns.

If a person thinks money, education, status, philosophy, religion, lifestyle, etc. will help them, they are sadly mistaken.
So long as they remain in darkness, they will fail and be miserably destroyed through those very things.
Because they remain within a curse. Genesis 3:16-20.

As a fish can not live out of water, the creation can not live apart from the Creator.

John 3:35-36
The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

I think the sun was the light. Back there at the beginning. Jesus came along several billion years later.
