Pretty sure Goobs uses one regularly.smackaholic wrote:what's a hedge trimmer?
I've got a gas powered Stihl HS 45.Wolfman wrote:Screw those gas powered jobs. I'm electric and can do all mine with 50 feet of extension cord that keeps getting shorter all the time, if you know what I mean. I had one hedge that required me to use a ladder. Ended up chopping them down so that can be done easily on foot. I don't do ladders anymore. My western property line is mostly Eugenia hedge (living fence). Down here during the summer, all of them need to be done about once a month.
BTW--I hope you use heavy gloves when operating one. Someone told me you can cut up your fingers badly if you get careless.

Do you live in 18th century England? Your landscape architect is laughing at you.Mikey wrote: It does start to get a little heavy after a couple of hours, though.
I would think a greenie hippy like you would use an electric one, especially with all that free electricity the rest of us bought you.Mikey wrote: I've got a gas powered Stihl HS 45.
I need a little more beef than most electric units have. Extension cords just get in the way, and I'd need a couple hundred feet to reach everything.
It does start to get a little heavy after a couple of hours, though.

I have one of those too.War Wagon wrote:Do these hedge trimmers leave many clippings? Rack Fu wants to know.

I figured you were too stupid to have a pro do it. Ok then the brain dead fuck who planted those plants is laughing at you. Only idiots, like you, have hedges that need trimming for hours at a time in San Diego in 2014.Mikey wrote:
Landscape architect??
So it's gay to call someone's profession by it's name? You are not only stupid but exceedingly boring.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:Your landscape architect is laughing at you.

That's funny. Search the word "tedious" on here and see how often your name is connected to it.Moving Sale wrote:exceedingly boring.

If you are trimming anything in one yard for hours at a time YOU are the moron. And what exactly do you hedge trim with hedge trimmers that is not a hedge?Mikey wrote: Guess what, moron. You can trim a lot more than "hedges" with a hedge trimmer.
IKYABWAI smack is actually pretty good for you, so congrats on your best post in years.MgoBlue-LightSpecial wrote:That's funny. Search the word "tedious" on here and see how often your name is connected to it.Moving Sale wrote:exceedingly boring.![]()
Yeah. That was IKYABWAI. And rightfully so.

That would be an insult to potted plants everywhere.Sudden Sam wrote:These city folk who think a potted plant is shrubbery

You just keep kicking your own ass. Come back when you actually have a yard to maintain.Moving Sale wrote:If you are trimming anything in one yard for hours at a time YOU are the moron. For your future reference, I use the hedge trimmer on any bush, tree, shubbery or other plant that needs trimming. When I get to branches that are too large for the hedge trimmer I start up the chain saw. Several times a year I'll spend most of a weekend on this stuff, and yes it (trimmer and chain saw) does get heavy after a while.hedge: a fence or boundary formed by closely growing bushes or shrubs.

Midget, since you suck at this messageboard thing, I'll help you out...Mikey wrote:For your future reference, I use the hedge trimmer on any bush, tree, shubbery or other plant that needs trimming.
That's my whole point. If you are doing that you are an idiot and a slave to a fucking plant.Mikey wrote: For your future reference, I use the hedge trimmer on any bush, tree, shubbery or other plant that needs trimming.
You dig ditches for a living. I get it. I get that that means you think you know everything about like hard work and stuff. However, I can assure you that only an idiot trims bushes with a hedge trimmer in SD in 2014 for hours at a time. There are too many plants that you don't have to be a slave to that you can plant to being doing that stupid shit.Dinsdale wrote:
Just eject, you're clowning hard.
You don't need concrete and there are plenty of better ways to work up a sweat (even in the garden.) He lives in SD. Most people with brains plant things that are native or at least drought resistant. Most DR plants liked to be hacked to the ground from time to time and let go for the rest of the year because in the wild they get burned to the ground every year or so.Sudden Sam wrote: Some folks prefer greenery to concrete and don't mind working up a sweat.

The guy who truly doesn't know what a hedgetrimmer does is taking on a condescending attitude... good stuff.Mikey wrote:

Got plenty of those, and the hedge trimmer works just fine. You obviously don't have much knowledge of the variety of native plants available in California.Moving Sale wrote:So you are one of those dummies who trims aralia or salvia into a box instead of trimming it right so it flowers properly huh? Bet you don't even have an ozonator on that pool in your backyard.
