Watch lists are a joke. They name like 50 guys to these things. It'd be easier to name D1 QBs who aren't on this list.

Watch him melt into a quivering mass of goo as Lame Kiffin coaches him into throwing interceptions.
He will be the starter because bama's got nothing else. Saban missed out on Famous Jameis and now has to settle for sloppy seconds.
Meanwhile, Auburn's Nick Marshall (a converted DB transfer) will continue to run the read option so effectively that network cameramen can't follow the ball.

Winston is good, no doubt. But you have to consider that he's putting up those numbers against ACC defenses.
Wait, you are claiming FSU/Winston put up numbers against sub par defenses of the ACC, but then say AU could set records against supposedly better SEC defenses? That doesn't make much sense.
Unless you are saying SEC defenses are best at stopping the I formation run game and not wide open offenses like ATM or AU. If that was the point then they may not be as elite as some think.

I would've liked to see FSU play a more complete team in the NC. A mediocre-at-best Auburn defense stifled Winston and company for 3 quarters. I can't imagine what a true shut down defense would have done to a freshman QB in that environment. It could've been ugly.

The "watch list" is silly. About half of Oregon's roster is on the thing, including 2 TE's.
Although Mariota and Tyner are legit picks.

Devon Gardner's on it.
Hell, Cal's QB is on it.

Speaking of totally useless watch lists, the folks from the Davey O'Brien Award just released theirs. It includes a QB from Wisconsin.

Oh, yeah. Coker isn't on the list.

I watched Coker play here live, and he was........pretty good. Lots of potential. Good size, weight, arm strength not quite there, but.....Like most 'not quite there QB's' he could not figure out how to lead receivers in their routes. Always nearly waited for them to stop and turn around and look at him before he threw( Richt was the absolute WORST for doing that). Bad, bad habit and it will take a hell of a QB coach to teach him correctly. If he can get it.....Bama will only lose 2 of their first 10 games. He also has happy feet when under pressure. I get why he left, but being FSU's 2nd string QB isn't that bad of a gig. Ask Brad Johnson, as he's polishing his Super Bowl ring from the TB Buc's win.

Do you work hard to be this stupid, or does it just come naturally to you? BTW, when do you guys host Appalachian State again?

Making basic observations about A) The well-chronicled transgression of Winston, and B) Assessing whether to start for a traditionally better team rather than ride pine makes a person stupid?
Or maybe the person who thinks the ability to make basic observations make another person stupid is maybe the stupid one?
Does ridiculing Sparty for losing to Appalachian State make one naturally stupid, or does it take hard work?
Whole buncha irony for two simple sentences. Do you work hard at this, or does it come naturally?

No doubt I am a casual FSU fan due to the family connections, but you have no room to call anyone out for scheduling App State. FSU has made it a tradition to play at least one FCS team each year. Small wonder you haven't scheduled FAMU yet seeing as how they are across town.

Left Seater,
You know very well that my comment was made about the 'rapist' remark, The ASU reference was just a dig.
FSU like most top tier teams have to have a cupcake. FSU - Guilty. But so are MOST top schools.
But I apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings in here.
PS - the last time FSU and FAMU played each other was in basketball 20 years ago or so. It ended.............badly.

I mean, I've only given him 15 years of posts to piece that one together. I think this level of obliviousness falls under the category of naturally stupid.

See that is where you are wrong. You don't HAVE to schedule a FCS school, rather you CHOOSE to schedule a FCS school. There are plenty of directional schools and the like of Cal, FIU, Army, Kansas, New Mexico, etc, etc for you to buy a win and still play an extra home game.
SEC fan will argue that they need the 8th home game for the money.

Actually, you DO have to schedule an FCS school for revenue sharing purposes.
Not a written law, but understood.
Unless you want all those Barney Fife NCAA committee members to pass more stupid rules.

Must be a regional requirement, Southeastern part of the country.
