You want it to go away.
We all do.

You should listen to your doctor and follow logical steps and habits to get better.
But know that your physical ailment indicates that you are at stage 4 in your illness.


Stage 1: Man is a created being who is made to live in peace and comfort with God. You are apart from that and are in a state of Genesis 1:2 -- darkness and void.
Because you have left your Creator, you have been spiritually captured by Satan (Ephesians 2:2-3) and the problems you have will only increase.

Stage 2: Your heart is captivated by things other than God's Word. Your energy and focus go toward these things -- and it is called idol worship.

Stage 3: Because this is your state, you are mentally oppressed. You are not necessarily nut-house crazy, but you are neurotic and you have taken on habits which only increase the oppression. The moment Adam left God, he became this way (Genesis 3:7-10). Trying to hide from God. Trying to cover himself and make his existence manageable. Blaming others. And blaming God. This is what we have become, surely. Matthew 11:28.

Stage 4: Physical problems manifest. Acts 8:4-8. Because your heart and mind are off target, you have become physically ill.


Stage 5 is physical death.


You can (and will) seek to improve the physical ailment you have, but know that even if it improves or goes away, something more troubling will arise.
Undoubtedly so.

The root must be correctly addressed.

You must gain back your proper identity -- God's child.
The restoration of Genesis 1:26-28.

From this point on, healing (beginning spiritually -- on earth as it is in Heaven...) takes place.
It is in God's hands.

Right now it is in Satan's hands, and this will not end well for you.

I mean illnesses like cancer and such.....I've read many a time of people claiming that by praying to god their cancer went into remission, their mental illnesses, etc.? there's a reason I ask.....

Yes, I believe such healings are occurring.

For healing, the first obvious and necessary step is to become God's child -- at which point He has promised to take responsibility for you.
Apart from this, a person remains in the kingdom of satan, and really, not much more needs to be said about how that goes.

After becoming God's child, the Word is your power.
It is living and active -- Hebrews 4:12.

In fact, God's Word is creation.

Picking a few key verses and continuing to meditate on them, listen to them, or write them, puts the power into action.
Apart from listening to your doctor, etc., It is the healing tactic.

Psalms 1:1-3
[1] Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
[2] But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

if he'll heal people from cancer and other serious maladies, why won't he help an amputee spontaneously regenerate a missing limb?

Felix, I think I get what you're driving at here. Your question however, is a little misdirected.

The idea of healing through prayer plays out through the mind. The mind is far more powerful than we imagine it to be, so the old cliché about the power of positive thinking holds sway. An upbeat mental outlook, happiness, staying focused, meditation (prayer) all play factors in the mind helping the body to heal. Poptart gives credit to God for this. I give credit as well to the human spirit. There are any number of cases, my own included, where healing took place when there wasn't any medical, logical or rational right for it to occur. Who is to say that we all don't interconnect on a subconscious level, sort of like a human-collective hive. That when that power is focused and driven toward healing, miracles might indeed occur.

Nothing is going to grow back a limb, not unless you're a genetic starfish or something.

Prayer, on the other hand, empowered by God, spirit, the mind or some other unknown force, can and does work.

Felix, I could respond to your post with some thoughts of my own, but will go to the Bible instead.

The undercurrent to your query is, "If God is good and real, he would do ___________."



God Himself stood in front of the Pharisees, and blind and not believing, they demanded that He show them a "sign."
It's recorded what Jesus said to them.

Matthew 12:39-40
An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.



Jesus was in the ground three days and He rose from the dead.
There is no need for anything else to be shown.
