That would be a shitty way to go. Sure, you're still serving your country but you're not here because somebody on your side messed up. I know Pat Tillman is nodding.

Friendly fire in combat situations are pretty common. I spent a year in a combat platoon in Nam and experienced at least a dozen fuck ups like that. The worst was when two 8 inch howitzers from our own home firebase lit up our ambush position one night. Fuckin miracle no one got wounded. I was praying out loud cause I saw the muzzle flash and knew our guys were doing it. I would have much more preferred it was gooks. Somehow our co-ordinates got mixed up with a scheduled H&I fire mission. Shit happens :grin:
