Interesting claim there MS. If this case is successful then it will have the outcome of reducing the transparency of government. Her office oversaw a State program that received state money. The chief executive of the State said he would issue a line item veto to that state funding if she didn't resign from office. When the state budget came out he used his line item veto to remove said funding from her office. He did nothing to affect her standing in her elected job as DA.

So if this case is successful, then it will place a muzzle on any future governors stating their intention prior to his/her use of a veto. The Federal Government has similar ethics laws and there are hundreds of examples of Obama saying he would veto certain bills unless States made changes.


I doubt she thought that thru when she "suckered" him.

If your claim is true, why didn't he use a line item veto in previous years to remove the state funding from her office? This wasn't the first budget cycle for this item.

Funny thing about this though, it could turn out to help him in his run for future office. If he beats this absurd charge like most on both sides think he will, he then gets to play this card for sympathy. The libs calling this thing a joke will see their comments of support used in radio and tv ads.

He didnt do it before because if he had it would have been obvious he was protecting his corrupt buddies. The DUI gave him, what he thought, was cover to kill the "ethics" part if her budget. That's why he should be convicted, but as I said that probably will not happen.

The evidence that he was using the DUI as cover is the reporting from that time (link below) and the timing in that he would have pulled the funding sooner if he was not using the DUI as cover. In addition he has been indicted for doing just that, so there must have been some evidence to support the allegation. I know you can indict a ham sandwich (and they may have done just that in this case ), but it does lead some credence to my position.

As far as him doing it to protect his corrupt buddies, aside from that fact that she was investigating his administration for corruption, that is just a flyer on my part, but what other motive could he have?
