CU looking good early. Nothing much on the first drive, but then the D forced a 3 & out and and Liufau hit Spruce in stride for a 54-yard score. Go Buffs!

I like Mac taking the FG there. That seems like one of those situations where Hawkins or Embree would've gotten stubborn and tried to punch it in. Just take the two-score lead and be happy. We've been winning the field position battle the whole game so far.

this CU team was no guarantee to beat anyone. still, giving up 2 100 rushers....and up 10-0 and 17-7 in the 3rd....not encouraging. these guys at CU right now are not very talented or have size or speed and S&C is always a mystery up there...there's always this "new guy from the NFL" who is really awesome" who replaces the last "new guy from the NFL who is really awesome" as the S&C coach....losing big in the 4th Q might be part of it.
they'll get better. shitty loss because CSU is kinda bs. their fans, all 8 or them in most years that are about to pull out their gear from the Sonny days from underneath their Nebraska t-shirts...which are underneath their Bronc t shirts hooray.
sucks Mike. i feel your pain. disappointing....but Mac is as good as it can be imo right now.

Mainly, I just want to see noticeable improvement in year two under Mac 2.0. Maybe CSU really is a strong mid-major team. They went to a bowl game last year. Not writing off the season yet, but a bowl game just became damn near impossible. We'd have to win four conference games just to finish 6-6. Stranger things have happened, I guess, but not many. I suppose 4-8 could still be considered an "improvement," since they'd at least all be wins against FBS schools, but I'd still like to see the win total rise, even if it's just by one game.
Props to CSU for making the necessary halftime adjustments. Looks like we're facing the same issues as last year (suspect D and a shitty ground game), and without a legit deep threat like P Rich, the dink & dunk shit will only work for so long. I don't necessarily put this loss on Liufau, but Geherke would at least give them an extra threat in the running game. Not sure I'd pull the trigger on that just yet, but I wouldn't complain about it either. At this point, you've gotta just start throwing shit at the wall and see what sticks.
