Crazy, emotional afternoon for me (drinking with the prominent radio personality here, because I'm cool like that).
Spaty ain't fucking around on D.
From halfway through the first, until halfway through the 3rd, Oregon's D was a bad joke. That shit ain't hoisting a trophy.
But the game was over late in the 1st. when D'An"tO"noni'O didn't go on 4th and inches. I was at a bar, and everyone (who wasn't a dork) knew the game was over when his balls shriveled. It really was the turning point, even though it didn't affect the scoreboard.
Sparty represented well. I had friends at the game, and I'm sure their review of Spartyfan (we get into that shit) is good. I'm sure my bro bought every one he found a drink.
Thanks for the game, and thanks for representing well, Sparty. That's what it's all about. More important than the win, is your fans having a great time.
Hope to see you in January.

If the B1G is going to look as weak as it did on Saturday...Sparty's margin for error just got that much smaller. That game wasn't going to be an elimination game unless either team got absolutely pasted. I think if Sparty runs the table and stomps the supposed top teams in the B1G, they'll stay in the discussion. A 2-loss B1G champ doesn't have a prayer. The SEC can't send more than one, the Pac-12 will definitely send one, Florida State will be in if they run the table again. State will be going against the best of the Big XII (Oklahoma?) and that conference might be as weak as the B1G. Might get back to the old 'style points' discussion...can't scrape by in games you're expected to win easily.

Props to Oregon. There was that snow-ballin' thing I was talking about. A tight game through 3 quarters can wind up looking like a blowout in the end.
As I expected, neither team could do much on the ground. The difference was Mariota and his play-making ability under duress.
MSU's secondary has some work to do. They are not nearly as good as last year's.
My friend got her wallet stolen at the bar sometime around the 2nd quarter. It was a bad omen for things to come...

I agree on not going for it on 4th and 1. Also that shovel pass by Mariota was a killer. Total momentum shifter.
