I have a Costco membership and a Sam's Club membership. I've only had the Sam's club card since April. On a whim, I wanted to shop there one day, to check it out, but I had to pay $40 to shop. I just went to Sam's for the 2nd time since I had the membership and wasn't impressed. I picked up some Naproxen, corn chips, soda, baking mix, and Kind bars. Sam's is a lot less crowded and sucks a lot more than Costco. We only have 1 Sam's in the county, as opposed to several Costco's. The clerks at Sam's also are sub par, compared to Costco.

Anyone have these club memberships and is it worth it? I won't renew Sam's. Debatable about Costco.

Dropped Sam's club years ago.

I shop at Costco every Saturday morning after the farmers market at the Vista Courthouse.

You must eat a lot of meat. The packages are HUGE. I don't buy them usually. Unless it's the ground beef and we are having a party. They used to have the really lean gr beef, but that changed about a year or two ago. I do buy their shrimp with the sauce. As a non-seafood person, it's pretty good and fresh tasting.

Yes, Sam's club is UGGG. And they had their Christmas stuff out today!! The trees lit and all. It was horrendous.

No Sam's here. But, there's kind of a loop road off the major business hiway I live adjacent to. In addition to WINCO (west coast thing, which is a constant cart war between the white trash and the illegals, and cheap as hell), there's a Costco next door, and they're currently building a Walmart.

Safe to say, I'll never drive down Dartmouth St again. The triumvirate of suck.

We have both chains here and I belong to neither. Only having two in the house those places never made sense to me. Why would I want to store all that extra for months on end, when at best I save a few pennies?

The only Sam's here is located in a near ghetto. Lots of Mexicans. There is a Walmart, Target, Ross, etc in the same shopping center. About a year ago, there was a shooting inside that Walmart.

I noticed yesterday, there were mostly Mexicans and minorities either shopping or working there. The mex mamma's had their brood of kids along, eating and spilling their snacks.

I might upgrade my phone there. Apparently, they only charge tax on what you pay for the phone, not the full value. I don't know how they get away with that in California.

I'm just pointing out my experience. I've noticed the Mexicans like to shop at Sam's and Walmart. Us whiter folk prefer Costco and Target. The Mexican's also seem to have bigger families compared to us who have around 2 kids. Language, borders, culture. A Mexican lady had about 8 bags of corn chips in her basket. I asked her where they were and she kindly told me. I picked up 2 bags. At $1.44 each, that was a bargain.

Actually, I'm not sure if Juanita's make it that far south. My friend in Sacramento gets them. Cheap, and by far the best corn chips.

I have up on sams, it's far and inconvenient and dirty like a walmart. I loooove Costco but don't buy much but the savings on myson purchase more than pays for the membership if I paid for it.
