1. Cal (nobody scores 36 points in 1 quarter... unless the PAC 12 refs are involved. Held one of the top scoring offenses in the country to 13 points for 3 quarters)

2. Arizona ( beat Cal on the scoreboard)

3. Utah (they can drink, do drugs, and bang chicks in a Mormon run state and get over)

4. Washington State (PAC 12 refs fucked them... I feel your pain)

5. Oregon (beat Wazzu on the scoreboard)

6. Clemson ( because they Clemsoned and were the better team in their game against Florida State... I feel their pain)

7. Oregon State ( because I like my brother... and they NEVER go 3-0 to start the season... this makes them a cinch for a final 4 playoff team)

8. East Carolina ( they're fun to watch and beat up on P5 teams)

9. North Dakota State ( because they would win the BIG 12 if they were a member)

10. Kansas State ( cause they were screwed by a kicker that grew up in Alabama as a Allbarn fan)

"Cracks in the armor"? At what point did anybody accuse the Oregon defense of being good?

If the defense can be "above average," O will do well.

But Wazzu brought their A Game. Oregon brought their C Game.

Running into a buzzsaw in their house in a night game isn't unheard of. I don't think anyone expected Wazzu to actually play some D for the first time under Leach, but it happened.

One of those "a win is a win" games.

And all of the next-day whining about the officiating is funny. Wazzu fan seems to turn the other cheek when Oregon got fucked over and over. But a marginal call (or non-call) at the end of the game draws ire?

Please.

Firstly, I rarely give my rankings the last few years -- my team has spent much of it in the top 5 or so, which kills objectivity.

But it seems to me that Oklahoma has two good outings against P5 teams.

1. Oregon - Mariotta has "it."
2. Oklahoma - Most complete team in the country, no real weak spot.
3. Texas A&M - I am up and down on aTm but when they are on the field they impress me against teams without a pulse.
4. Notre Dame - I hate their annual hype but damn.
5. Baylor - Fought the urge to not put them #3 or higher than this. Troof. Shitty schedule has held back on them. But they scare me, SCARE.
6. Florida State - Respect for still being undefeated and defending National champs. Not impressed though.
7. Alabama - I honest to Mod just did a coin flip, came up Bama.
8. Auburn - Sorry, better luck next coin flip.
9. UCLA - Meh, who else.
10. Duke - Duke is real. They'll be playing FSU again in December.

Thanks, if you'll notice, I didn't post in this last week. Didn't want to get accused of OU homerism because I would have had us #1 last week but dropped OU back to 2.

So scared of Baylor right now.

I'd pump the breaks on them just a bit. They have been good, but their best win was against a Michigan team that has yet to enter the Red Zone against a P5 team. I am impressed that they have played this well with 3 starters out on defense and 1 on offense. We'll find out in October if they are legit or not.

You're probably right. But Golson being back has to factor in.

You know I'm no Notre Dame lover but they have looked good.

That is an astonishing observation.

I know you're not, and Golson's play has been very impressive. However, their defense is what has impressed me considering their losses and playing in a new scheme. But the teams they have played so far have been bad. Rice just lost to Old Dominion, UM got smoked by Utah and Purdue was beaten badly by a MAC team.

October was setting up to be an insane month with Stanford at home, UNC at home and FSU on the road. It's slightly less insane with Stanford losing to USC and ECU getting prison Cal'd by ECU. And Jameis can still be Jameis.

Doesn't even look like Ole Piss is the best team in their own state. How do you justify ranking them ahead of Miss St? They don't have a win even in the same stratosphere as beating LSU in Death Valley under the lights.

Granted Mississippi State beating LSU was huge. But their other wins aren't at all impressive.

The Bulldogs gave up 34 points to UAB and beating Southern Miss and South Alabama counts for little. They also tried to give away the game against LSU.

Boise State was a decent win (granted, not like beating LSU in Baton Rouge) and Vandy and Louisiana-Lafayette are nothing, but I'm going more on what I've seen of the two teams. I think Ole Miss has a damn good defense. I didn't think LSU was all that good after their games leading up to Saturday's loss. I figured Miss State would at least cover and had said they'd win in Starkville.

We'll see how things evolve, but my eye test says the Rebels are the better team. They play in Baton Rouge next month.

Anyone who has seen the kids they've signed the last few years. Recruiting ranked anywhere from 4th to 9th each year. Getting top talent every year.
Do those of us who have watched Muschump coach and develop players get any say in the matter. The only thing that might save Florida from another losing schedule is pathetic their schedule is.
