After touring with Joe Satriani, Hoey decided to steal Stu Hamm's trademark Linus & Lucy bit.

Stu Hamm is a definitely a ruling-class bassist.

He's the guy who didn't buy into "you can't do that on a bass."

Seen him live about 20 times.

Vince Guaraldi wrote Linus and Lucy. And when I was 17, I sang with a girl(Who I was in DEEP love with, but didn't see me as more than a 'friend'...lots of frustrated nights over that chick) for her senior recital, and she knew this older guy that was a friend of a friend to play piano for her/us.

Freaking Vince Guaraldi. Once I realized who he was, I asked him to play Linus and Lucy, and he did, as well as Christmas Time is Here, and by God and GOD and god, he played Take 5 by Brubeck. My jaw still hurts 35 years later from hitting the floor as he played.

True top musicians just make you stare in amazement. Great memory.

The thing is...Vince Guaraldi died 39 years ago.

I've had this CD over 20 years, probably closer to 25. Blew my socks off then, still does....

Promise me that we're not going to get a lot of SF pictures out of this.
Well...he did go to Lincoln HS in SF.

My dad was a couple of years ahead of him (that's not BS, BTW). He used to tell me that he was one of the weird beatnik kids who wore black leather and stuff.
