For the past 30 or so years, a local movie chain has been offering discounted pricing for first-run movies on Tuesday evenings. Most likely to promote theatre attendance on typically the slowest day of the week for cinema.

The franchise's moniker was "Two-Dollar Tuesdays", but was quickly glossed Niqqer Night, a term penned by the Afro-diaspora themselves.
We've never considered it a particularly offensive phrasing when discussed in movie going circles, even in "mixed" company.

It's just what it's called. Everyone calls it that. The term isn't recognised as an assualt, in any way, shape or form.
