Ok, since Nebraska is semi-relevant on a national scale tomorrow (yeah, it's been awhile), I'm going to call my shot and predict that MSU keys on Abdullah and gets lit the fuck up off play-action in the first half. In the second half, they will be forced to respect the pass and run ability of Armstrong and get diced by AA. If NU doesn't turn it over more than once and Gregory and Abdullah get their usual: Nebraska 38 Sparty 24
Windy, cold and rain. I say that favors Nebraska in East Lansing. Or we shit the bed and drop back to 25 whilst Sparty makes their bid the rest of the year for the playoff at the end of the year.

First of all, don't be timid. You can call me out by name.
Secondly, "Sparty" is the mascot. Spartans is the team name.
Now that we've gotten that out of the way...

Big plays over the top is always my concern with this defense. Safety play has been pretty 'meh' so far this year. But I'm not too terribly concerned with Tommy Turnover and his whopping 53% completion rate. Although he does throw a good deep ball.

I recall both of those guys had good games against MSU last year, and you were down by 3 TDs on your home turf before tacking on a garbage time TD with 30 seconds left. In other words, football is still a team game.

Cold and windy, yes. Tough to say yet on the rain front. The weather changes here about every 5 minutes. If it's sloppy out there, I'm not sure that favors a turnover-prone team that wants to run the read-option.
I think MSU wins the turnover battle (again), keeps Abdullah reasonably in check (under 150 yards?) and wins a tight one 31-27.

i don't see picking against "the Spartans" in this one.
this weather/sunny.....non sun thing is interesting tho. East Lansing and Lincoln are not exactly known for fall weather temperance.
either of them.

Armstrong is 11-1 as a starter, he was a redshirt freshman with no game experience last year against MSU. He improves every outing with protecting the ball and making better decisions. I've seen two bad throwing decisions this fall, but he is really improving on zone read. I really like where he is right now.

Cook is playing lights out, but I wonder how he'll handle pressure if NU is able be effective without blitzing. I think it is a bit of an unknown that all 4 of NU's defensive front will be playing on Sundays in 3 years. They are as good as they've been since Suh and Crick were in Lincoln. Gregory is going to be moved around and will be playing LB in the second half.
I'll call my shot that Cook throws no less than 2 picks because NU makes him uncomfortable.
Pelini will focus on stopping Langford early.
MSU needs to run to win, the jet sweep is my fear.
Nebraska will run well as long as they stay patient.
Will be a good game and your score prediction is going to be pretty damn close, I wonder who has the 31 and who has the 27.

Alright MGoo-Blew...... The Spartans are a good team, and I honestly would rather lose to them than any other team in the B1G. Cook is impressive, but keep in mind Nebraska had 5 turnovers last year... you can lose to a conf. bottom feeder let alone the eventual winner, with that many turnovers. The score last year was misleading. Nebraska doesn't turn it over once and MSU could have been on the other side of it.
Armstrong is developing the kind of confidence and swagger not seen since Tommy Frazier. Biggest difference being Armstrong's teammates actually like the guy. Frazier annoyed people... as good as he was.
Look for Gregory to play on the left side of the line occasionally or out of shifts to keep Cook from rolling right (where he is deadly). I predict Cook gets sacked 4 times tonight and Ameer runs for a buck fifty while Westerkamp and Bell haul in 3 TD's between them. I will downgrade the score to 32- 24.

Nice to see PeLLLLin's nose running like an out of control fire hydrant at the half...Again..
Dipshit needs his temination notice...
So sick of a once proud program that can't win a game of significance.
Any Robert S. Devaney type assistants at Michigan State looking for a gig?
I'm running out of time....

This could change, but as of right now, I'm not terribly concerned with Ohio State. They will be coming into EL for a prime time contest with a first year starting QB. MSU's D feasts on guys like that. Also, you will somehow need to magically develop a pass defense between now and then, unless the weather calls for a slug fest on the ground, in which case, I still like the Spartans' chances. Held Abdullah and that vaunted Husker rushing attack to 45 yards at 1.3 YPC.
If the game was in Columbus, that would be another matter.
