After riding around on the Korean subways for years, I visited NY and rode the subways there, and wow...
Night and day difference.
NY filth.
Dark, dirty, degenerate, and just plain disgusting.
Sketchy people everywhere, and seldom a smile to be found.
Not IN.
Go ahead, bite the Big Apple, don't mind the maggots...

Good for him. Those broads need to be locked up in a zoo.

Always remember taking MrsO into the subway in NYC. She was so used to Toronto's system--clean,nice. She was appalled.

Trains scare me. I am sick of driving to LA so I'm actually taking the train alone Thursday. It goes up through Compton, Watts, South Central and into Downtown LA. I hope I can brave the ride home at 11 pm; although I asked this big guy I know who takes also takes it to escort me to my station (two before his). Indpendence!

The area I live in has one of the lowest rates of violent crime of any major US metro area. That said, riding the train across town late at night can still be a bit sketch.
Is there a city where the trains don't suck?

Despite the consistent bending over riders get, WMATA trains aren't that bad.
