Pretty much, when the #4 team has beaten 1 ranked team.

Then again, the #1 team has the same record against ranked teams, 1-1.

#2 is 3-1 against ranked teams. #5 is 3-1 against ranked teams. #6 is 2-0 against ranked teams.

Actually, a "conspiracy" involves an element of secretiveness. The committee's actions are not secretive, they're flagrant.

You're using the rankings as they're ranked now, or how they were ranked when the games were played?
Now, just like anyone with brains would.

Man, that South Carolina sure looks scary!!!!

LSU just can't be stopped.

And A&M, what a monster!!!!

Oh, wait... the pollsters couldn't have let financial interests maybe blind them to the fact those teams lost much of their talent, could they?

Seriously -- only an idiot doesn't see it.

Funny how when a certain conference from the Southeast signed a billion dollar deal with a certain sports network that has a zillion poll voters, their 2-loss team got a free pass to the championship game that very same year, and have gotten free (OK, occasionally earned) passes ever since... Every. Single. Year.

And now that certain conference from the southeast has been outdone financially (albeit not bought by those with the loudest voices) by a certain conference from the west, that conference from the west seems to have improved leaps and bounds in the eyes of those who hold the purse-strings*.

The "when they played" criterion is stupid. Which again, favors the bought-and-paid-for-conference.

Really? A win over South Carolina or aTm is worth a shit? But you crack on a win over Kal (who would likely beat those teams, especially with aTm's god-awful defense -- Goff would throw for 700)?

Was the Ducks' win over UDub something of which legends are made? (OK, maybe around here, since that was 11 straight against the archrival.)

I've said it before (quite recently) -- it'll all come out in the wash... or it should.

But placing Miss St ahead of TCU or tOSU (or maybe even Baylor) is absolutely laughable. I mean, at least Alabama looks impressive while rolling through their mediocre schedule (save your... ONCE AGAIN, bought-and-paid-for SoS rankings... how's South Carolina doing these days?)... MSU looks like a pansy.

Hey Python... solid take, bro. You really bring a lot to a CFB discussion.

Say what you want about the SEC and their hype (I agree with just about everything you said) but MSU's lone loss is to Alabama in a relatively close game. The same Alabama that has been the most elite team in college football for the past 5 years. OSU lost to an awful VaTech team. TCU gave up 900 points in the 4th quarter to Baylor. Baylor lost to a very average WVU team. So if you are going to look at the strength of teams wins, you have to look at how bad their losses are as well. MSU has the best loss.

I don't really disagree. But if you put a bee in SECBSH's bonnet, you can usually get them to say some really stupid stuff, which is always good for a laugh.
