Matsui is up to bat in bottom of 7th with 2 out. 2 runners are on, and arod on deck.

Matsui watches 2 balls, so he should watch a few pitches, you know, your up 12-3, why not give arod a shot at the 4th homer and 14 rbis!

oH no, he fuckign swings at next pitch grounding into fc for 3rd out!

i damn well know the yankee fans boo'd matsui, when you have a shot at giving a teammate something special, why not let him get a shot??? they are up 12-3!!!!!!!!!!

or maybe its me.

Arod had a good night but he's no Hard Hit'n Mark Whiten.

I thought is was just adel.

That whole maybe thing has me confusedicated.

Adel, Cardinal fans are SUPPOSED to be knowledgeable. So here's a lesson.

2 run homer
3 run homer
4 run homer

If Arod comes up with men on, what does he NOT have the chance to do?

RACK Matsui for giving Arod the chance to go where no man has gone before.

Now, I will really be impressed when Arod does that in a game that...ahem...matters*

if matsui takes pitches and walks, its bases loaded with arod up to bat! 10rbis become 14 with slammy!

instead matsui swings and grounds out on 2-0 count!

when your up 12-3, why not just let arod have a chance! oh well!

So Matsui had a guaranteed walk?

Wow!

How does that work again? Surely he didn't reach out into the other batter's box and try to stop an Intentional Walk...

So do you call your aunt Uncle Billie? How big are her nuts?

Oh...ok. All to get Arod up again. Niiiiiiiiiiice. Better to try and get a 2 strike swing than a swing on a 2-0 pitch.

Bace, I hold you responsible for this one. Get him back into training.

For those who don't remember the details:
Whiten's career game was on September 7, 1993, for the St. Louis Cardinals
in the second game of a doubleheader against the Reds.
One RBI in the first game, 4 HR's, 12 RBI in the second game.
Whiten was a classic "up-and-down" player, he had a good outfield arm,
and hit with power, but mental lapses frustrated the shit out of his coaches
and managers.

When Pay Rod has this type of game against the Red Sox THEN I'll be impressed.

I knew about this fact because Baseball Tonight devoted the first 9 fucking minutes of their broadcast to the fact. There wasn't enough time to do anything but run through all the other games.

He scored 3 times.

The Astros didn't play yesterday.

This thread just gets dumber and dumberer.

I don't think anyone doubts this guy's ability to flat out crush the ball but it's time for him to help carry a team in postseason. Another 40-50 HR and 125 RBI in the regular season is nice but this guy has to make it happen in October.

Gay-Rod knocked in 10 runs. No other team scored 10 runs that night. I pretty much figured the guy didnt get up to bat 10 times.
