It's scary out here. It seems like Martinez Unified is the only district keeping schools open. The bastards. Making my kids endure both RAIN and WIND to learn.

But yeah, NorCals aren't soft or anything.

The boys are gettin' hammered in San Fran.

Errrrrrrrr.

We might get an inch of that, if it doesn't Peter out once it gets down here.

Really? Schools closed for rain? LOL.....

Buffalo is laughing at you.

We close down here, only for very bad wildfires.

Wait, that's the "storm of the decade"? 20 foot seas, 1.5-3" of rain, 75mph winds?

On the Oregon Coast, we call that "winter." Weekly occurrence. And everyone goes about their business.

A couple of years ago, I worked outside in a worse storm than that.

Supposed to have 60+mph winds in the Valley here tomorrow. Inland, 65 or so is when trees start coming down. Could be fun.

I'll take my 5 months of weather... and enjoy a tree or two.

Oregon is a beautiful place, no doubt.

You can have today and tomorrow, but 363-2 is still a pretty good record.

Mavericks at Half Moon Bay is likely to see some of the largest waves reaching as high as 27 feet during high tide. Stinson Beach and Ocean Beach could see 11 to 18-foot waves. Swells above 20-feet will develop offshore leading to hazardous conditions for mariners.

Ummm... just got back from "the patch" in Bolinas (north of Stinson Beach)... and you can double and triple the over head on the predicted wave size.

For the first time in my life... I had to take my 7 foot 6 Yater... out of the ocean. I simply could not paddle out of the soups.

Just got back to San Rafael... and winds are starting to howl here as well.

This one has the making of a motherfucker.

And we are used to 40 to 50 foot waves on the North Coast during the winter.

I'm guessing 70 to 80 foot waves tonight and early this morning.

I'm going to walk the two blocks to Safeway from Gerstle Park (my hood 10 minutes north of "the City" and grab a couple bottles of Vodka and ride this one out...)

Being on Ross Street... makes this possible.

It's a mother.

Already a 1/2 a foot of rain this morning in the North Bay and 71 mph winds on Mt. Tam and 83 mph winds on Mt. Hamilton in the south bay

On to bottle # 2.

Had to drive into Marin this morning. Thankfully the roads aren't littered with jackasses. Nothing like a monsoon to bring out the contentious motorist.

Getting back to the east bay may be a different story

Earlier, it was sunny and about 60.

Now, it's starting to get pretty dark, and getting the occasional strong gust.

Let's get this party started. Maybe some weatherman can go stand outside and have a tree fall on him.

So far, thoroughly unimpressive.

The sustained winds are no more that 10-15, but there's been some doozy gusts, probably in the 50mph range. No trees down in my immediate vicinity, but I'm in a very wind-sheltered spot.

Still sunny and warm (by season standards), and the sun is about down (light starts fading by 4 PM this time of year).

C'mon, show me something, Ma Nature!

^^^^^famous last words of more than one mofo.

You call out MN at your own peril. Have fun. She has been douching us pretty good these last few weeks. Pretty sure the forest fire danger arrow thingy is pinned to the left.

Flash flood watch, high wind advisory here.

The weather came about 4 hours late and not really raining all that hard.

Just keep it coming so I won't have to fill in my pool.

M2 is bad for my data plan :/

It's been pouring hard I socal since about 2 am? My grass (actual grass not pot) is flooded. I'm leaving for the weekend and I'm kinda sad I'm going to miss this weather. But I hope it makes the ship rock n roll. This also means if it keeps going south I'm not getting off in ensenada.

I grew up in Ohio, so I know what it's like. I do love seasons.

Things I love: fall, rain storms, spring in bloom, white new snow, ice skating, cool temps

Things I don't love: humidity, bugs, bitter in February, dirty snow, tornadoes

Buuuuuuuut the kid is going.
Buuuuuuuut The kid hangs out at camp carnival.

I may hit up the piano bar and get a little plastered and then sober up in the casino before pickup at 1am. I have some ridiculous $200 onboard credit.

Kind of a letdown, really. A few branches to clean up in the yard.

Tree fell on a car not too far from here, which killed a kid, which is kind of a bummer.
