WASHINGTON, D.C. - After falling victim to thieves who stole packages off of their front porch several times, a Northeast D.C. couple decided to teach them a lesson.
Surveillance cameras caught the thief stealing a package from the doorstep of the couple's Washington, D.C. home.
“Obviously, it made me really mad,” Andrea Hutzler, 33, told WJLA TV.
Hutzler and her boyfriend decided to place a fake package outside, They filled the box with dog poop before putting it on the porch.
Sure enough, a man showed up and was caught on surveillance video taking the package.
It appears the trick worked, as the thief has not returned since.
The woman gave the surveillance video to police, who are now searching for the thief.
