It was just the beginnings of a cash grab by this whor...errr.. fine young woman.
She has had more DNA inside her than Watson or Crick could ever imagine.
But, won't change anyone's mind. Just more sport's show talk fodder.

Probably had nothing to do with the legal team that FSU put together for Winston. We all know that never plays a role. Like with the OJ case.

Granted the kid is weapons grade dumb, but just because you wish the rape happened, doesn't make it so.
What with all the attention this case has received and the high profile reviews, if there were any evidence of rape he would be on trial and we would all know every detail about it. Hell the National Organization for Women reviewed the evidence and quietly walked away. The Univ, the DA, the PD would all make great targets for someone if the evidence was there.
I expect better from most of the posters in BTPCFB. But maybe I should dial down my expectations to Cul de Smack levels.
There is plenty to dislike about the kid, and he prolly should have been suspended for his actual crimes and poor judgement, but the rape allegation should be left alone.

You can expect whatever you want from whomever you want. On the flip side of your "just because you wish it happened" would be just because they didn't find enough evidence to prosecute doesn't mean it didn't happen, either.
We will never know for sure, but the fact that the cops leaked a copy of the police report to the players attorney's before the DA had a chance to question them is fairly odd. As is the fact that those players already had signed sworn affidavit's that backed up Winston's version of the story. And somehow the video that Ronald Darby took mysteriously disappeared.
And given his other transgressions, forgive me if I don't take Jameis Winston's word as to what happened.

All that said, after reading the (alleged) leaked testimony, his story sounds infinitely more believable than hers, which seems a bit far-fetched (and it changed).
And that said -- the behavior of the university, and the police was absolutely shameful, and appears to be part of a larger, accepted culture there.

More brilliance!
Son, Jamies could not have any legal representation during the conduct code hearing, while the accuser DID have it with her. And a conduct hearing presided over by a former State Supreme court judge? I wouldn't have said squadoosh either given those 'fair' conditions. And FSU
CAN'T supply him representation. Just try intelligence and facts on for once and see how it fits you.

My mistake, wheels. But I'm sure FSU didn't "suggest" David Cornwell to Winston. But you can continue to bury your head on this kid. Hey, whatever gets wins, right?

Highly unlikely given the amount of scrutiny and eyeballs looking at this claim, if there was something else, someone would have found it by now, or someone would have let slip a bit of info.
The alleged victim actually makes Winston sound intelligent when you listen to her multiple versions of the story. Then when you examine all the circumstantial evidence it becomes clear as day why no charges were brought forth.
Rape is a horrible crime, and those who commit it should be locked up and forgotten. At the same time claiming rape when it didn't happen is horrible as well. It takes away from victims who were actually attacked and attaches a label to the accused that is damn near impossible to shed. See Duke Lacrosse.

While the "victim's" story doesn't sound terribly plausible, the judge hearing the case cited a lack of evidence.
That's right -- there was zero evidence, because the Tallahassee Police Department thought it was acceptable to not do their job, and there was no evidence that supported either side of the story.
Again, the overall attitude and actions (or lack thereof) of the university and local police was absolutely deplorable and disgusting.

Anytime you want to get down off your soap box and actually discuss the missteps or borderline illegal actions taken by the PD in this case, I'm all ears.
But please don't lecture me about rape and what rape claims can do to someone. Not all of us share our life stories on this board and suffice it to say the longer we all are here, the more life experiences we have ranging from great to horrific. Thanks for the attempt at a life lesson.

Off the soap box.
This just hits very close to home for me as well. Damn near everyone in here has assumed guilt from the minute the story broke, which is wrong. You can point out tens of mistakes including Winston's judgement in sleeping with her in the first place, but none of those mistakes point to his guilt.

Good point.
One of my regular customers in Denver happens to be a police detective and she works with sexual violent crimes in the Denver metro. She also happens to be a bulldyke (so there is no real love for men when it comes to sexual abuse by males)
She was in my shop one day during a show in the summer and we were watching the local news after one of the college football games had ended and the show had about another hour before the campus closed and all the patrons had to leave.
Well, one of the news stories that started the news was a woman who claimed to be raped. While talking about the story she gave me some information that blew my mind. Since this is her field of work I took what she had to say as close to
the truth as it gets.
She told me that 1 out of every 4 rape allegations are
false/a lie... that's right, 25% !!!
Blew my mind, since I had always been under impression that if a woman had the courage to go to the police about being raped it was probably true. This conversation happened around 20 years ago... and it has changed my mind about what women are capable of and how they are culpable in the problems women have when it comes to crimes that really are perpetrated on them. They seem to be their own worst enemy.
Therefore, when a woman accuses someone of rape... I don't immediately take her word for it. Especially when said rape victim.... may see 10's millions of $$$ just a few years down the road when it comes to Winston.
I'm not saying the woman is lying or she had been raped and is telling
the truth. I'm just saying there is a very good chance that she's a lying gold-digger and the circumstances from what I heard of the case tend to lead me to that conclusion.
Jumps off the soap box...

By the way... the use of "I'm not saying" and "I'm just saying"... as well as, "Blew my mind" used twice in my recourse.
Would get my ass flunked out of Cal by the english dept.
Sup, shitty first draft.
Thank god... this place is a shithole full of heathens.

Aside from evidence that she had multiple partners in addition to Winston, what evidence was there that she did consent to intercourse with Winston? Is there a link to some article that provides access to the source documents?
There is no known smoking gun for either side to my knowledge. At this point it is a he said she said deal. There are a crap ton of mistakes all around.
The biggest issue I have with her claim is her ever changing story. A few of the biggest "fails" for me are her outright lies. There are photos of her and Jameis together that predate the alleged rape. Some claim that she posted these on her since deleted Facebook page. Of course photos together don't prove she wasn't raped. However, she initially said she didn't know the name or face of her attacker. Then at the start of the semester she saw him in a class and heard the prof call out his name. A newspaper story reports the two never shared a class.
Again, no proof that he did or didn't, just multiple huge holes in her story that don't add up. When faced with said holes her story changed or the questions were deflected by her attorney.

Worst case scenario, he's a rapist.
Best case scenario, he's a huge piece of shit.
FSU fans must be so proud!

Happened this past year with Oregon's basketball team -- extremely similar case. And while they weren't charged, due to a very similar lack of evidence (story was almost the same, shared a cab back to the players' apartment, changed stories multiple times, etc), the school chucked them out for having such poor judgment that they brought embarrassment and scrutiny to the school.
At least we're not
AP FSU.

88,
The rape test kit showed DNA from Winston and her boyfriend on the same night. The boyfriend stated that they had sex AFTER the alleged rape.
PS - her boy friend is black also, unbeknownst to her parents. And I love some guys here that are make huge suppositions a thousand miles away, while I am here, and privy to some on campus info via...well kids that are there on campus and knew her. As well as a frat brother that is a lieutenant with the police. And I have stated that JW is a dumbass kid in an adults body and he needs to grow the fuck up. Quickly. Cause that strange feeling he has in his ass are 500 cameras and microphones following his every move. Not an apologist, but I feel false claims of rape should carry the same penalty as rape itself. Accusations like this NEVER go away.
