State of the Union Anyone?

I give my full support to any presidential candidate who keeps a promise to return to the original intent of it and simply send a written message to Congress. I haven't watched a minute since one of Reagan's. It has morphed into shameless political theater, of which Barry and his handlers are masters.

Since we already know the content and the fact that the tax increases are already dead, why watch?
Thankfully there are other choices on tonight. Unlike when I was a kid and all three channels would cover this crap and ruin your night.

Washington and Adams both addressed Congress in person. I'm fairly sure they were both experts as to the concept of original intent being founding fathers and all.

Uh, you may be
fairly sure, but Wolfie was actually there, so I'll defer to his expertise.

I didn't see TV cameras when I was there. Also do not recall idiot representatives fighting to get an aisle seat to high five Mr. President.

The State of the Union is, we are in the later part of a 2 term D administration so it's going pretty good. The real question is, how long till we elect another R so they can run us into a ditch again?

Are you kidding me Bsmack? Every single part of this is choreographed from the underwear he is wearing to the lip-planting he gives his ugliest democrat cronie. And it's all staged for political photo-op. I would watch but I could probably write the speech without even having to watch. I don't think Washington and Adams had in mind what is going on today.

I'm sure the black guy speaking to Congress in a room lit by lights powered by electricity would blow their minds too.

You didn't miss much. He said 'Let's work together. As long as you do it my way.'

Ya, just another campaign speech but standing ovations were far from unanimous. I laffed a few times and then went to the cartoon channel to watch Garfield.

You mean like the last R that was president, who used the State of the Union Address to scream from the mountaintops that Fannie and Freddie needed reforming, and Congress really needed to get on it... multiple times?
Or were you talking about the D before him, who got bilateral support to pass laws to make banks make shitty loans, at the risk of being sued by a private enforcement organization with their hotshot lawyer (whatever happened to that guy, anyway?)?
History is a fun subject when you make it up out of thin air, eh?

The POTUS is measured, at least my people who are not syphilitic weasels, by more than one thing. Thanks for playing ditch digger, but as usual, you are wrong again.
Rooster,
Yes. That's why I posted it.
