I will say, this year's crop of HS seniors was particularly weak.

But just like the tech industry and several others, my state has a knack for attracting the best talent from around the globe, and football is no different.

Frankly I am a little surprised that Oregon isn't producing more HS talent. The Ducks have been above average for some time now and their offense is at the cutting edge of a few trends.

I am guessing that the Duck coaching staff holds clinics for the HS coaches in the state and is available to help them understand the offense the Ducks run.


Then again I didn't grow up in the area so maybe wrestling or bowling is where the HS kids spend their time.

Unfortunately, there's a shred of truth here.

MLS is loaded with Oregon boys. Plenty of MLB players, too. And track... forgetaboutit -- the all-time god of the decathlon is a Portland boy.

And I'm pretty sure Helfie (at least he's an Oregon boy) does clinics. I know Chip did, since my buddy went to a couple of them.

The state of Michigan is pretty much dog shit when it comes to producing elite football talent. Basketball? Have it in spades.

They had an off game against OSU. Shit happens. They fucking worked the defending NC winner, fucking worked Stanford, and fucking worked MSU this year. Add in 'Zona who was top 10 at the time and Utah (17), and that's two other teams they fucking worked. They scored less than 40 points 3 times this year.
