The GOP elite and its corporate overlords, including the telecoms, have done an excellent job in convincing "normal," self-professed "free market loving" capitalists that the FCC's proposed rules enforcing net neutrality would destroy the internet. You see all sorts of hysterics, especially in the WSJ comments sections that this will kill the internet, that this is socialism, that Obummer, etc etc. They spout bald-faced lies like the major telecoms already treat internet traffic equally when this has been proven wrong. And yet they endorse further consolidation of the telecom industry which would strengthen control and supply of the the internet traffic in the US into the hands of less than a handful of companies.

Even idiots here like wolftard are spewing the same garbage. Why is that? There is almost zero competition among internet (and cable) providers in major metro areas. We have some of the slowest internet in the world and also the most expensive. Why would supposed "free-market" conservatives support monopolizing the future (and present) of economic innovation in the US?

Grande Communications is the provider. I have a higher priced tier for work and it is much faster.
