It's a horrendous event, to be sure -- with very difficult circumstances to follow, probably for life.

In Acts 7, we see that Stephen (a vocal believer) is stoned to death for his testimony about the Christ.
Can you imagine being stoned?
Brutal.

[55] But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
[56] And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God.
[57] Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord,
[58] And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul.
[59] And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.
[60] And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

He died at peace, full of the Holy Spirit.

All of the apostles suffered horrendous, excruciating deaths.

There is a heaven and there is an eternal life.

Genesis 1:26-28
Genesis 2:17
Genesis 3: 1-20

Read them carefully and thoughtfully if you care to.

Of course it is. Why, I go to parties, sometimes until four,
It's hard to leave when you can't find the door.

I agree with you Sam, JG was Joe at his best, even given his solo work. I do like his influence on the Eagles, but will listen to James Gang any day first.

"Grace causes the Christian to act, reason the philosopher. Other men are carried away by their passions, their actions not being preceded by reflection: these are the men who walk in darkness. On the other hand, the philosopher, even in his passions, acts only after reflection; he walks in the dark, but by a torch."

~ Denis Diderot
