Perhaps you would care to explain why every majority black city and country is, without exception, a complete shithole?
Is Zimbabwe suffering from the effects of Jim Crow and slavery? Is South Africa suffering from "post 1964 VRA institutional racism"? Why are these two formerly prosperous nations open sewers of violence and corruption? Just two examples to get the ball rolling.
You may offer your feeble explanation anytime now.

How exactly does slavery have anything to do with Selma today? If Sam's info is correct it would seem to indicate that Selma is exactly what Black leadership has called for. Blacks leading blacks in a majority black community. How long will it take of blacks leading blacks for the slavery excuse to no longer be valid?

It is an unfortunate fact that balcks, in general, flat out suck at governing themselves. Same goes for other cultures that are kinda new to the whole civilization game, so I guess it is a matter of good ole chuckie D at work.
Euro whiteys and some zipperheads have had well organized governing structures for millenia. In such cultures, the ability to play nice with others was a good thing. The inability to do so generally led to having ones neck stretched or dome lopped. That DNA didn't do so well. Cultures where hunting game and then being able to keep your neighbor from taking said game was a more important skill led to that trait winning the DNA battle. I suspect that this is why native Americans and Africans pretty much suck ass when given the governmental reigns yet dominate certain sports. Then there are the semitic peoples of the middle east. They have a long history governing and they were somewhat successful at it, till the religion of peace came along and buttfukked them in the mouf.
So, to answer the question, yeah, DNA pretty much is the answer.

Pretty much my only experience with that next of the woods is Gulfport, Ms.
The pawn shop and payday loan industries are well served there. They have that going for them. I suspect this is partly due to it being Mississippi and partly due to being a Navy town. That is a suck double whammy that no town should have to endure.

The casinos spawned all the pawn shops.

The casinos no doubt increased their bidness, but, NCBC Gulfport was there long before the casinos. And I have never been to a Navy Town that didn't have an overabundance of Pawn Shops and used car lots (E-1 and up, we finance). And we are not talking just garden variety squids, we are talking SeaBees here. They tend to be even moer drunk and disorderly than regular seagoing squid. They are sailors that pretend to be marines.

LS,
We have been down this road. Family and education. Slavery is relevant because it killed both in the black community. Jim Crow is relevant because it retarded their return to the black community. Post 64 racism is relevant because it too slows down the return of family and education to the black community. How long will Ofailurecal's racism and the racism of his vile peers be relevant? I'm thinking another generation will be needed.

What a bullshit cop out. Whitey isn't preventing blacks from staying together as intact families or getting an education. In fact, whitey is spending billions upon billions on schools that are failing because niqqers are too fucking stupid to value the education they
could be getting there. Their failures are 100% self-inflicted and they will
never climb out of the ghetto and begin to walk upright until
they decide to get their act together. That is the bottom line.
Sorry guy, but my low personal opinion of niqqers does not impede their advancement one iota. I guess blaming me is a lot easier than confronting the ugly reality of the feral, urban scum which are a plague on this nation and an embarrassment to humanity.

Jim Crow is dead and buried.
Whitey has bent over backwards with AA to try and right that wrong.
There is one area where whitey has fuct over the balck man and that is the great society. When Lyndon Johnson said, don't worry 'bout yo chillins, Nate, I will send them a check every month, he destroyed the balck family unit. This did more to harm them than any racist, or should I say other type of racist, could have.
Now pile on our 21st century "service economy"

where there are Mc jobs for all and it makes things real tough for those poor folks who want to climb the ladder.
You think more scholarships and AA can fix things.
That is bullshit.
Ending AA and the welfare industrial complex will help, if we also get someone in charge who thinks that having an economy that actually makes things is a good idea. Of course walmart execs might take issue with losing the made in china for nothing pipeline.

Other than the great society welfare noose used to help choke them out, I agree with this. The injuns have suffered the same fate. When you tell a people they can sit around and wait for a check, a good number will. If this group is already predisposed to not functioning particularly well in a civilized society, it multiplies the effect.
This is why the only place where socialism has succeeded on any level is in Northern Europe. Those Arayan/Celt fukks are just naturally predisposed to working their asses off. So, they get along reasonably well, even in socialist environments. Of course, socialism is taking its toll, even there. And 40 years of importing lots of pigment ain't helping much either.

Ok, education. Granted education opportunities for Blacks lacked for years. Not today. Education is available to all who want it. States are bending over backwards to give black students opportunities at college. Some states use quotas in admission decisions. Others have granted guaranteed admission to students in the top 10% of their HS class. The states and Feds are throwing huge numbers of dollars at public schools. In many communities things like "Ebonics" have been recognized by school districts in an attempt to help black students, but does it really?
Family is more difficult, but this isn't something society is forcing or did force upon the black community. This is a choice they made. There are thousands of programs purporting to help the Black family. This is where a strong Black leader who is more interested in helping the black community than making coin or staying relevant could go a long way.
Jim Crow certainly didn't help the Black community, but many young blacks have no clue what that even is. Maybe grandma is teaching them about it and is angry but when they can't see it and touch it and live it, it doesn't carry nearly the same weight. What happens when those who lived thru it are no longer with us?
I understand you can make an argument using the things you did. But when the same argument is made decade after decade despite monies being spent and solutions being offered, it become a hollow argument very quickly. I would also say it becomes an excuse on both sides of the debate as well when little changes.

The black community was in better shape (and much better), prior to LBJ's "War on Poverty," which has continued to grow and expand to this day.
Family and church was somewhat rooted within the black community.
Black fatherless homes are three times more common now than they were prior to The War on Poverty beginning.
The gov took over as "father" and provider -- and it's been a catastrophic failure on many levels.
Had The War on Poverty never been undertaken, my guess is we would still see blacks lagging behind other ethnicities, but would not see their their communities in complete shambles as we see today.
