I turned it off after the black DA just kept talking about himself, how he was a mutt, and how he grew up in Mississippi. I just didn't care after that. Should the cop have been charged?
No. Kid was 6'4" and 200 lbs. jacked up on mushrooms and punched the cop in the head, to the point of concussion. But some of the idiots here think he should be charged with murder.

You should really read some of the comments and offer a reasoned shutyomouth response. I'm chiming in as "Voice of reason".

If you can't arrest a dude without killing him you should be fired.

Says the person who has never had to take an unwilling subject into custody, much less a large one jacked up on drugs.

So only cops get to decide what good police procedures are.

And people on the internet.

But sounds like good riddance, as bad a justification as it might be.

Good police procedures are set in accordance to local, state, and federal law. Should we have the police no longer follow that practice?

Perhaps you have a point, though. Maybe we should have plumbers, bus drivers, and pron shop jizz-moppers establish policies & guidelines for the bar association (can't do any worse!).

Well, if you point a gun at a dude in order to arrest him and his response is to punch you in the head, killing just might be justified. But yours is pretty much the attitude I would expect from a criminal-attorney.

While simply punching the cop doesn't justify deadly force (at least by CA law), the fact that the punch gave the cop a concussion did give the officer justification for using deadly force.

This shows what a piss-poor atty Moving Fail is. He could get a jay-walker the death penalty.

You mean because I have read more police reports and had more cops on the stand than you have brain cells and so I know what shitbags most of them are?

Diego,
Have you ever met a cop shooting you didn't like?

Yes I have.

Have you ever seen a highly publicized UOF that you did approve of?

Key word being "most", and key consideration being the shithole state where you practice law. Go fuck yourself.

Does your wife dress up as a cop when she beats you, or does she just wear her everyday clothes?

Thanks for the acronym expander. You going to answer the fucking question?

I did answer the question. Fuck off if you think I'm going to name specific ones, as it's been quite a while since I've seen one & I haven't kept a spreadsheet since the mid eighties of all the cases of deadly force that I've read about :meds: (not to mention how infrequently unjustifiable shootings occur). The shooting by the reserve in Tulsa looks bad, but I'll reserve judgement until that case is brought to trial.

So do tell us how you're experienced in taking unwilling subjects into custody. Please, regale us with your tales of how said suspects were always willing to comply with every request/command you made. :meds:
