Having grown up on the California coast... and learned how to surf at San Onofre in slowcal near President Nixon's compound... when I was 9 years old. This flick touched a nerve.
I've basically surfed every quality break from K-38 just south of the Mexican border to Crescent City near the Oregon boarder.
This is the only break in California (San Francisco Bay Area, "Mavericks")... or anywhere else in the world I've surfed where... I said, "Oh, hell no" !!!

Chasing Mavericks 2012 Full Movie
Grab a beer or twenty, locate your bong... and enjoy.
P.S. My first board was a hand me down from my uncle who lived in Mission Viejo and was the one that taught me how to surf... it was a 7 foot 6 Yater.

Does that look like "St. Louis" to you ???
I understand that living near the arctic circle... one igloo looks just like the rest.
It's just not how it is in the lower 48.
Our grizzly bears... aren't albinos.
Enjoy your half a day of summer !
You earned it.

Don't get mad, bro. Embrace your flyover heritage.
Why get all bent about admitting you're from St. Louis?

Crescent City is near the Oregon border..and it was there I saw a great white take a seal right out of the surf line a few years back. Flipped that seal about 10 feet in the air in two pieces. Never seen so many idiot boarders get out of the water so fast.
Keep going there, I only see about 3 great whites in 2 days there a year on my annual tuna fishing expedition.

Because apparently legends start somewhere, just not there.

Decent perhaps, but must not have risen to legendary status.
