Let's be clear, the GOP malignancy which stole the 2000 and '04 elections (and we won't speak of the current Manchurian Candidate) and which vigorously spawned the Permanent War which currently dominates all facets of national and foreign policy, is not ready to give up an inch of its sordid gains. And to this end it realizes that the 2016 presidential stakes are really for all the marbles. That is, the launching of the war against Iran, as well as sewing up the Supreme Court for the indefinite future. And so the combing and winnowing of candidates has achieved a finer and more discriminating bent. No Rick Perry or Ted Cruz reeling radicals, and no immediately hateful robots like Scott Walker. No more of the venerable Bush contagion. No sudden ethnics or women. No risks. And ironically, that leaves a blue-eyed military veteran with extensive experience in the senate, a proper war-mongering servant of AIPAC and all for which it stands. And that's Lindsey Graham.

I wouldn't have thought so a month ago, but it's clear that the quiet acceptance and anointing by the otherwise passive mainstream media is underway. For example, repeated positive gushing by both Shields and Brooks on the PBS News, and similar placements of his "new" mainstream appeal. Sure, who else? Walker? Bush? It's a very short list indeed, and those two are somehow unelectable, even against Hillary.

The fact that both he and Hillary are both closeted gays should provide some odd moments. As for veep picks, this too is much more important than in previous elections. Hillary of course wanted Panetta in '08--and still does, but they're both 76 years-old. She can't go with another woman, nor a decidedly younger man. Graham can choose young--and even a woman--but none of the current candidates.

Leon Panetta is a dud. If she's smart she'll pick Sherrod Brown and get a leg up in Ohio while mending fences with her party's liberal wing. It is a win-win.

Graham is a classic southern flamer whose "Streetcar Named Desire" will not be heading to the nomination, much less the White House.

Sherrod Brown of course should be president. And perhaps he does present an interesting choice of direction in Hillary's otherwise confused and stalled movement. I think she's more worried about alienating the vast conservative fear-whipped welter of America's undecided.

As for the closet gay Graham not getting a sniff....really? Well, sure, if there was a roster of alternative strong GOP malignancies to choose from. But, babs, regardless of who you would personally prefer, who do you see with any sort of possible traction? Perry? Bush? Walker? Of course not, despite the malignant Kochs' promise of $900 million to whomever they choose (and that's Walker all the way). Who else? I would not simply write off Cruz and Paul either. Cruz is the smartest candidate in either party but he's kind of a dick. He is going to have to overcome that perception and it won't be a trivial task.

Paul? Well...I think he will make some points that other candidates will need to address and those responses could be informative.

I'd be perfectly fair.....I'd love to hear these transitiions you keep claiming you can make....just demonstrate your ability to a bend a string with an audible release, and a pull-off with the bending finger and target the note on the next lower string....that is a basic move in lead guitar playing....one of the best examples of this technique is Jimmy Page's work on Heartbreaker.....
