I pretty much doubt the FAA will approve such a monstrosity. What if a person in seat A needs to use the bathroom during the flight? An emergency evacuation would really turn FUBAR with that arrangement.

Ain't going to fly (at least here in the US. I could see Ryan Air using it).

Check out business class on many airlines and you will see both forward and rear facing seats right next to each other. This has been going on for some time. As for the claim that it will never fly due to evacuation concerns is ridiculous. That seat is much easier to get across or around than a flat bed is. If the side by side flat beds can be certified then so can these.

When we fly, I try to get seating on planes that have 2 seats in at least one side, window seat for MrsO and aisle for me. If I get stuck in a middle seat, I propose a rule that says middle seat gets 2 arm rests. Most folks detest sitting backwards as they move forward. I don't see this idea going very far.

I usually book well in advance and get two aisle seats.

I always go for an aisle seat, if possible. The only time the arm rest is ever up is of the OL is sitting next to me, and then only if I'm in a good mood. Or if I have a row to myself, which is almost unheard of anymore.

On Southwest if I can get B30 or better there's usually no problem getting the aisle. Gotta remember to check in exactly 24 hours before departure.

I tend to take red-eye flights (especially if it's to somewhere past the Mississippi), and the last trip I got an aisle seat. Seemed like every fucker coming down the aisle had to bump into either my shoulder or my chair. If I ever take another red-eye flight again, I'm getting the window seat so that I can sleep.

Give me the window bulkhead seat. The aisle is crap as has been pointed out with everyone including the waitresses bumping into you constantly.

Red eye flights are the suck but a necessity at times.

Mikey for an extra $12 you can alway guarantee a spot near the front on Southwest.

When I was travelling full time with a large carry-on and computer bag that made a difference. Told that employer to stuff it, though. Now I go from SNA to SFO once a month in the morning, returning the same evening. I don't care about overhead space anymore and for a one hour flight the aisle works best. Gotta watch out for the attendants but at least I'm not so crammed in.

Maybe for you fat fucks that don't fit within the confines of the seat. I almost always sit on the aisle and I don't have people bumping into me. Occasionally grabbing my seatback for balance, yes.

Then you are one of three things:

You are shorter than MS

You only sit in the last row of the plane

You are the last to board every time

Outside of those three there is no way you haven't been bumped during boarding.

Oh, so now you've gone from "everyone including the waitresses bumping into you constantly" to being "bumped during boarding". :meds:

If I'm sitting on the aisle during boarding I sort of expect to be bumped. But when we're at 30,000' I expect people getting up to use the head to use a little bit of consideration when walking down the aisle. Since most of them aren't capable of that I'll take the window seat.

If you are siiting within the boundaries of your seat, the only way you get bumped is from someone leaning into your space. Can't say that's ever been a significant issue for me sitting in an aisle seat. Most people I see getting bumped are either fat fucks spilling over their armrest into the aisle, or assholes who want to try and claim just a little portion of the aisle space. Not sure which you are, but the sugar-free popsicles might be a hint.

You really don't get out much do you.

The rules of flying say the person in the middle seat gets both armrests. That means the person in the window seat cheats towards the window and the person in the aisle seat cheats towards the aisle. Add in a normal shoulder width (a measurement that has little to do with weight and almost entirely frame size) and you are going to get unwanted contact. Then add in 6'3" of height and your legs (which will hit the seat back in front if sitting with the knees at a right angle) will also have to extend out towards the aisle.

It's cool, you are short and small of build, just embrace it and own it like MS does. Be who you are, just post fewer pics of you "being it" in here.

Yeah, tubby, I'm a hair under 6 feet and 180 lbs. That's pretty short and slight. :meds:

Rules of flying? Really? I never saw those posted anywhere. I don't cheat in any direction. I just sit up straight and I fit in just fine. You fat fucks should just be forced to buy two seats.

No it's a humanity thing. Aisle and window get one, middle seat gets two.

Common decency.
