In addition to ballistic expert, we can add math whiz to dumbfukk's resume....sound travels roughly 1000 feet per second (3 seconds to hear the gun fire). even at 1000 yards a .50 cal will be going 1500fps but will have reached 1000 yards in 1.4 seconds
