I think there's a lot of optimism with the departure of Gary Andersen and the hiring of Paul Chryst. I'm hopefully optimistic about Stave, though a lot of the fan base thinks he sucks. He played OK as a freshman, got a little better as a sophomore. During camp last summer all of the media felt it was obvious that Stave earned the starting job, but Andersen went with McEvoy because he was committed to having a dual threat QB.

McEvoy sucked balls, but Stave's confidence was crushed, and he struggled for a while when he was put back in. Chryst is a QB coach and I believe Stave will have a decent senior season as long as the running game keeps humming along and he just needs to be a game manager. The schedule is atrocious after Alabama, that might be the only ranked team we play all season until the B1G champioship.

I expect the Alabama game to be relatively close in the first half, but Bammer should pull away later. 31-20 or 34-20.

The only thing that gives Wisky a puncher's chance in this game imo is that Bama will be breaking in a brand new QB with no tune up game beforehand versus Northwestern Maine School of Design or Cal or someone like that. I'm sure Bama's O will be hitting on all cylinders by mid-season or so, but there are usually some growing pains the first few weeks with a new signal-caller. I'm really going out on a limb with that logic, I know.

Goobs, I heard UW has been bitten with the injury bug so far in fall camp. The main thing that separates good SEC teams from others around the country is depth. Due to over-signing, SEC teams have the luxury of burying super talented kids down the depth chart so injuries aren't quite as critical for them. In the Big Ten, the difference between your 1s and your 2s or 3s can be huge. Wisky is gonna need all hands on deck for this one.

Also I'm not sure the Badgers' offensive line will be great this year by their standards. Oh, and Stave. Your quarterback is Joel Stave.

If the OL is up to snuff though, Clement is gonna be a beast this season. Dude ran for over a 1,000 yards last year as Gordon's back up, which is ridiculous.

Unfortunately, I think Bama wins rather decisively, something like 30-13. I think Wisky will struggle to run the ball against their front 7 and Stave is gonna Stave. Hope I'm wrong.
