Not saying there aren't a bunch of rude ass hole camera jockeys pushing people out of their way to get "the shot", but as a former cameraman, among other trades, I never practiced that shit behavior and none of my fellow ops did either.

You know better than to paint with that wide a brush stroke.

Every camera person I have ever conversed with, either in the courtroom, courthouse or outside the courthouse or a prison has been nice to me. I would estimate that it amounts to over one hundred (anecdotal) encounters.

That was my experience. Every one of those guys who worked cameras at the Federal Building would stampede to get the same exact shot of the suspect walking into the courthouse that they got the day before. And they gave exactly zero fucks who they ran over to get that shot. Maybe youse guys in the desert are a finer breed of camera jockey than Rochester.

Yes and no, I guess it all depends on your own experience. I never worked the courthouse beat but was involved in a number of televised legal and political broadcasts. Those were all handled with proper decorum, but of course that isn't same thing as news gathering or live reporting.

Those types do get territorial. Some of them can get aggressive. Definitely some a-holes in that group.

But to go back on topic, this story has hit me in such a bizarre way and I will elaborate on that later.
