I've always been fascinated by astronomical events, this did not disappoint. Quite the bloody good show.

Bit of a rip-off. Nothing but black clouds, but one with the moon behind it that flickered like a neon sign. Something went on. So much for the universe, watched the Lions instead :?

Absolutely crystal clear evening here. We've been sitting on the porch with binoculars for the past two hours. Amazing sight. Very little ambient light here, and when the eclipse was in totality we could see not only the red moon but the milky way up above.

I'm not a .net guy, and don't know the timing or location of said event, but since there's a slightly less than a one-in-one hundred million chance it's true, calling bullshit seems wise. There's been no reported cases in the last year.


As far as the eclipse -- the clouds let up a bit, and I watched it through the haze of the 98% humidity.

I went out front around 10:30 and nothing but dark clouds. Maybe next time.

Had a great view here. Lots of people in the neighborhood were outside checking it out.

Drove south from SLO to LA last night during eclipse and got to watch the whole thing.
It was awesome.

Saw it here no problem.

Had to get up at 4:30AM though.

Nothing but clouds and rain for six straight days. There's so many huge trees on my property I rarely see the moon anyway unless it is directly overhead. Same goes for sunshine, plenty of shade here.

Too damn much city light here but even so, when it went almost total eclipse, you could see things in the night sky you'd never see otherwise. I was surprised how long it lasted (save your cock blocked jokes, holic, I'm not reading them), at least 1-1/2 hours. I thought it would be over in a 1/2 hour at most.

The night before last the moon was so bright it lit up my backyard like Arrowhead on MNF. Amazingly bright and seemingly so close you could reach out and touch it.

When I see stuff like that, it makes me realize what small and insignificant creatures human beings are compared to the majesty that I prefer to call Gods' creation.

Spray, I get not seeing the sun for extended periods. It's called "winter," and the U&L winter sucks, bigtime. And on the flipside, I rarely see clouds or rain in the summer.

But at least it hasn't been ridiculously hot (OK, a day here, a day there). But everyone I know thinks I'm a "freak," since heat never really bothers me -- cold fucking bothers me.

Pretty decent folks on my new street, except I don't know what they look like.

Can we just settle it. The left coast has freakishly tall and big trees. Unless you live in SoCal which has whatever your gardener planted and you can keep alive via watering. The flyovers and right coasters have an assload of trees. Some get decent sized. I do think we have variety bode, however.

I have dead limbs in some of my trees that are of a larger diameter than Barfs skinny saplings he's so proud of.

Actually we have some pretty decent size quercus agrifolia and platanus racemosa around here.






I don't have any live oaks quite that big but they sprout in my yard like weeds.


There are some pretty big pepper trees too, but they're imports.
