How about this one... I picked Idaho with a -4.5 over the 2nd worst team in D-1 college football in New Mexico State. Those fucking Vandals gave up 48 points in the 2nd half and OT to lose. At least North Texas can feel proud now.

Wazzou got fucked on the fumble, though...
A lot of bad calls in that game, both ways. Stanford got fucked on the forward pass call on the final drive, and an offensive PI non-call that resulted in a big gain, etc. You take what you get and move on.

I went the other way on that one, since Idaho recently won its first road game in something like 10 years (how does that even happen?)... didn't figure they were due for another for several years.

Home dogs are usually a good bet -- if said home dog is getting points from Idaho, it's a lead-pipe-lock.

And I'm still laughing about the North Texas debacle -- meant to post something about it at the time. For those that missed it, FCS Portland State laid the biggest asswhooping on a FBS team in NCAA history. North Texas fired the entire coaching staff immediately after the game.

And you'd think that people around here would be more excited about Portland State. It's actually the largest school in Oregon, and has now beaten 2 FBS teams this season (sup Wazzu). But no one gives a shit about PSU sports. I guess the mostly-Asian student body is more into academics than sports, or something. Of the people I hang out with that have college degrees, the majority of them got them from PSU (many started at other schools, or community college, whatever). And those alums... are Ducks and Beavers fans(granted, some of them started at those schools, or grew up in Ducks/Beavs households).

Heck, PSU just beat perennial FCS powerhouse Montana for the first time in a couple of decades (for those unfamiliar -- Montana takes their football very seriously. Around here, we compare them to a miniature Big Red -- they travel. Every other year, several thousand Montana fans make the trek to Portland, and always outnumber the Vik's fans).

And just last night, the discussion of why we never go to PSU games came up. It's not like making the nightmare trek up the Valley to see the Ducks or Beavs (if both teams have home games, it's 100 miles of nasty traffic), and they just about give away tix (one of the Saturday-game-watching-crew is an alum). I can hop on a bus and be Downtown at the stadium in a few minutes, don't have to park, and can get as liquored up as I want (as long as my obnoxious ass doesn't piss off the bus driver).

OK, might have to hit a PSU game soon.

I've seen enough of Portland State over the years to know they can play. A long time ago they hired Fresno City Colleges football coach and he brought PSU in and either beat or almost beat Fresno St. They play when Fresno can't get a body bag money game in a real conference during pre conference.

Until hiring Bruce Barnum this season, the HCs, going back decades, were Pokey Allen, Tim Walsh, and Nigel Burton... with a year (2?) of Glanville in there. They seem to keep them around a while, win or lose (as long as they agree to get paid very little).
