I just finished a marathon on KODI of seasons 1 and 2. Still have final episode to watch, but both seasons are very good and for very different reasons.

Season one, character development was a big part of the story.

Season two was more about the events creating a domino effect. Can't wait for the upload tonight.

I like the idea of entirely new characters, plot, and setting from each season, but with everything still being interconnected to tell a larger story.

I enjoyed the drama from Season 1 a little more but the overall cast of characters from Season 2 are better.

Since I've fallen into the "show hole" while hanging out with a certain female of late, I will give Fargo a whirl.

If the Coens are involved, it's usually pretty good.

Since we're talking TV shows...

I'm looking forward to the return of Better Call Saul. Which on a sidenote, after spending time in Albuquerque, the whole billboard dealio becomes more significant. I don't know what's up with that town, but there's about 3 billboards from sleazebag lawyers for every mile of freeway... kinda weird.

It seems the only thing left for The Walking Dead is for Henry Winkler to make a cameo, strap on some waterskis, and jump over a valley full of zombies. While entertaining in the early days, any more, I just shake my head. If'n I'm not mistaken, they started in Georgia, made their way up through the Carolinas, including a stint in Charleston. I suppose the show would be mighty boring, had just one of the main characters been familiar with the words "island" and "boat." But who am I kidding... I don't know where you'd find an island in South Carolina, since the entire coastline isn't littered with them.

Walking Dead lost me during the whole governor/happy-go-lucky thingy. It was horrible. The pots of flowers in the main thoroughfare windows was overkill.

Sherlock Holmes is one I'm hooked onto now. Just finished season 2. Very clever show and well written.

Daredevil is another one I highly recommend.

The tie-in to the movie is the Coen brothers connection, the Minnesota accents, and a lot of stylistic similarities. Noah Cawley has done a great job in capturing the feel of the original movie but, with the serial format, he has a lot more freedom to explore the characters and develop the plots and subplots. The two stories were tied together only by location and the one character that was a grandpa (Keith Carradine) in the first season and a young trooper (Patrick Wilson) in the second. The first season was great, the second was even better. This is due not only to the writing but incredible casting in both.

Also looking forward to Better Call Saul.

Others that I follow when they're on (but are mostly on hiatus right now) are:

Homeland - one episode left this season, I think (surprisingly hasn't jumped the shark yet).
The Americans
Turn
Penny Dreadful
House of Cards (haven't gotten to the 2015 season yet)
Peaky Blinders - a BBC series on Netflix (still waiting for season 3)
True Detective (first season was great, second not so much)

The most ridiculous part about The Walking Dead isn't the zombies, it's that a character in every fucking scene has to deliver some profound monologue. People don't talk that way, especially not during the midst of a crisis. The show has become tedious but I feel too invested to quit now.

Better Call Saul is straight . Probly the best show on these days (that I've seen).

The Americans is good enough to keep me coming back for more, but I just don't love it for some reason.

The creator of Fargo should do a comedy spin-off with Mike Milligan committing white collar crimes from his 9-5 office job.

Fargo, season two, was great. The writing, the amazing character developments, starting with the agent for Jesse Plemons--"okay, he'll put on thirty-five pounds, but the man-tits are CGI, yes yes, or no no..--and the indomitable Zahn McClarnon, the native American assassin who never runs out of bullets, and Ted Danson--who knew he could really act? The many allusions to the Cohens (who have no input in the series) are brilliant, starting with the KC assassin brothers who never speak. Kirsten Dunst should get some sort of award, and I personally urge you to enjoy her amazing talent in a weird but very cool flick from two years ago, Melancholia, which provides the best rendering of Wagner ever placed in a film. The best and most perfect part of this ten-hour movie was of course the character of Mike Milligan, played by Bokeem Woodbine. Everything about his rise to being a king--and being relegated to a corporate cell (think Brazil --1985--) was priceless and profound.

Somewhat fitting though, as the whole season was a disappointment, and has
been on a downward spiral for the last season and a half. Great show early on,
but it was time to put that dog down.

I'm in agreement with "Saul", but on a somewhat related side note, for fans of Mr. Show, Netflix is now offering W/Bob and David, the new and updated variation on Mr. Show. It picked up on Episode 1 where the old show left off and moved forward in time. It is funny as hell and just as brilliant. Worth searching for.
