BMW needs to stick to what they know, sport tourers, adventure bikes and sport bikes.
polite silence.Only problem of course is it's Not a Harley

Why is it a problem to make it home? :?KC Scott wrote:Only problem of course is it's Not a Harley
Sorry, but that riding position is cruiser, not tourer. And being a BMW is not a problem if you are a motorcycle. They make some of the best bikes on the planet.KC Scott wrote:it's a touring bike, 'holic and a damn good looking one at that

On a cruiser one sits straight up & not leaning forward over the tank, dopus.smackaholic wrote:Sorry, but that riding position is cruiser, not tourer.KC Scott wrote:it's a touring bike, 'holic and a damn good looking one at that

Forward controls are what you find on cruisers, if I am not mistaken. And bags may make a bike tourer friendly, but don't necessarily make it a tourer. IMO it is about riding position. Tourers tend to have higher saddle with foot controls located further back. A low saddle with controls mounted forward is what I think of as cruiser geometry.KC Scott wrote:See the fwd control for the rear brake?
See the bags?

One day you may actually find a subject you can speak intelligently on, but this isn't it
Harleys get you laid. Is anything else needed? As for actual benefits, they still look like MCs, IMO. If I had 88 money, I'd have a road king Classic in my new 10 bay garage simply because I like the look. Hell, I might even ride it occasionally.Dr_Phibes wrote:It might disqualify me, but a fan of British bikes, Triumph, BSA. They're antiquated, but it's what I like. I'm trying to figure out a single redeeming feature from Harley. Other than a cult fanbase and an ability to shake themselves to death.
Triumph: Oil in frame and on garage floor. (FTFY,NC)
Harley: Shakey. A bit of noise, but that's cool. Whatever floats your boat.

Neither of you know shit about bikes. Please detail your riding experience including models, years ridden and total.miles logged.
Forward Controls are for cruisers and tour models, since you can lean back on long runs. Bags are another distinctive characteristic of touring bikes. This bike has both
Neither of you twats have any clue of rider position on this bike. Focus on things you do know about like th e kids sale at Kohls and weekend specials at Little Caesars
Sure, if this is what you're going for. :?smackaholic wrote:Harleys get you laid.
OK, I can see calling it a tourer/cruiser, or cruiser/tourer or whatever the fuck. After looking at the sites pics and that big ole' straight six leaned way forward, it is apparent that that is one big long bike, which gives the illusion of a very low saddle, like a cruiser would have, even though it is higher as you would have on a tourer, especially a sport tourer. If I get another bike, I would like to go with something that sits higher like a V-strom or maybe even a KLR 650 with bags. My FJ is a very comfy bike to ride for long stretches except for one thing. The after market corbin saddle sits a bit lower than stock, so I have a good deal of knee bend. My knees think this knee bend is the suck after about a 100 miles or so. That bike would likely be similar which takes it off my list. Actually, its price tag takes it off my list, being the cheap fukk that I am.KC Scott wrote:Currently own 2011 FXDF and 13 FLS the wife rides
I've been riding since I was 11, started with an 80cc Steen Hodaka. Started racing with an RM 125, did competition Trials with a Gas GasJTX 270. Other Street bikes were an Suzuki 800 Intruder and Kaw 900
Here's pics of a rider on that BMW - like I said - it's a TOURING / Cruiser - same class as the Harley Glide Series
