THE Ohio State University will start selling beer at its football games this fall.

The announcement came Wednesday as the university becomes one of a handful of others across the country that are raking in dollars through alcohol sales.

The University of Wisconsin is not one of them.

While some alcohol is allowed in designated premium seating, it is prohibited elsewhere in both Camp Randall and the Kohl Center.

OSU officials said they plan to use the money to pay for an extra two police officers plus a study on alcohol and campus climate.

UW declined to comment Wednesday on Ohio State’s decision and whether it would consider a similar program.

At Oregon games, there's no alcohol in the stadium (although I think it is in the boxes). The practice facility (the Moshofsky Center) is adjacent to the stadium, and the beer flows like wine before, during, and after the game.

Reasonably happy medium, since Duckfan seems to have no trouble getting wasted before the games (and over the last 10 years-ish, there's been a noticeable uptick in drunkenidiot behavior).
