I don't know what to do about Texas right now. They obviously have issues on defense, in a league full of high powered offenses. They over pursued A LOT and their d-line didn't have much push up front. Strong has the ability to right the ship on defense, but I need to see more out of Texas before I give them the love.
Notre Dame actually looks like a really good team, so I'll give Texas that much for beating them.
As for Wisconsin, their formula looks like it can work in the B1G and have a season much like Iowa had last year. But, JESUS, they have the toughest stretch in all of D1 Football starting September 24th.
@ Michigan State
@ Michigan
vs Ohio State
@ Iowa
vs Nebraska
If they get through that with 1 loss, how can you not put them in the top 4?

At least I don't have to cringe at seeing Florida in there anymore. The pollsters really had it going on there -- Gators rolling into battle rocking a QB that couldn't get into the game at Oregon State... let that sink in.
As far as my rankings -- who freaking cares. They'll probably be about as spot-on as the "experts."But the weird freaking adulation they have for UDub, coming off that stellar 7 win season is hilarious. They lost about half their defense, so that must mean they catapult up the rankings? Fuck them, and fuck the idiot pollsters.

Yeah but...
Petersen is in, what, his third year there? He should at least have them on a level with the best two or three in the MWC.

Texas might collapse for all I know, but I rewarded them for scheduling and winning a tough game while most were playing the Northwest Idaho School of Birdwatching. I learned more about Texas narrowly beating ND than I did about Louisville shit-hammering Charlotte. But some level of common sense has to play into this as well. For instance, OSU beat up on BGSU, but I think even the most casual fan realizes they are kinda good at football.

Says the guy who has UDub at #8, after beating up on a cupcake (albeit a P5 cupcake), coming off that impressive 7 win season?

Don't use me as an excuse for your late arrival.

tOSU and Harbaugh also had impressive wins vs. high quality opponents.

Well - I guess you're right, but I've read too many things saying that they actually might have a good team this year. Are they wrong?
Were they going to write about "once again, the PAC is a two team race" again? That doesn't sell newspapers/generate clicks.
Those same people also said Wazzu was a serious contender, too... up until they lost to
another FCS.

Is there a dark horse for the Pac this year in the south? Arizona St? Utah?

All of them.

I don't know if there really is a "dark horse," since no one really has any idea which team will win (except CU won't).
If I had to pick, I'd say Utah...which dooms them.

LSU had no business being in the top 10 a week ago and Wisky has no business being there now.
