Hitting old age has a lot to do with it. I'm 77 and realize as I've outlived quite a few friends and acquaintances that I'm looking down at the end of the road. It has been a great ride.

Yep. And that whole Delaney and Bonnie and Friends collaboration gave rise to a hell of a lot of good music. Derek and the Dominoes (and a lot of EC's music in the 90s), Mad Dogs and Englishmen, Leon Russell, Rita Coolidge, etc., etc. Rita Coolidge lives around here and put on a benefit show at our local HS a couple of years ago. She still sounds pretty good, and has a lot of interesting stories to tell.
