During the day, it's tons of family fun stuff, then at night, it's just stumbling around drunk with thousands of revellers partying in the streets.
I haven't been in over a decade, but Quebec knows how to party.

You'll have a blast. I've made two fact finding missions there and full of prejudice but had a great time. I was hit in the head by a head of lettuce in a burger-shop for refusing to order in French. Or being really drunk. The former is true I think.

I think Mrs. Rumps and I are gonna give it a go. But, should we do two days of Winter Carnaval and two days of Montreal? Or should we spend our entire time in Quebec City?

I have been to Quebec city once, in the middle of summer. It is a beautiful place. Only place I have ever been in North America that looks like an old Euro city. Will have to check out this winter drunkfest someday. I can also say that french canuck dude can drink. Closest thing I have ever seen to Royal Navy dude. And Royal Navy dude's 7 year old sister could drink any of you under the table.

And Rumps, you better go buy some warm clothes. I can't imagine anything in Houstonian dude's closet is ready for Quebec in December. I guess you could just tuck yourself in under one of the missuses breastuses though.

Don't care for Quebec at all. No English on signage in a nation allegedly bilingual. Makes it "Anglo-visitor" unfriendly. Try to find your way? Don't ask a cop in Montreal. They act like you're speaking Martian. The rest of Canada is fine.

In my experience Quebec is fine to English speakers. Just say hello or English right up front. There are a few assholes that will then still speak to you in French. Then you can either mention the Habs or call the person a frog. One usually gets them talking about hockey in English and the other has them cursing you in French, but will have three friendly Canadians coming to your rescue. Either way you will get help or info from someone.
