A true American hero if there ever was one.
Apparently he was booed today at a Trump rally. Nice job assholes.
Edit: or maybe not (booing John Glenn that is). Not a big fan of fake news.

Not much of a fan of his time in the Senate, but undeniably had as large and hairy a set of 'nads as anyone that has ever lived. That pretty much goes for any of the early astronauts that would strap themselves atop a rocket after watching similar rockets blow up on the pad.
Rack him.

Corrupt POS I hope he suffered a lot before he died.

Let's be specific. He was up to his eyeballs in the Keating Five scandal (I think he was number three), and along with McCain, should have been impeached and imprisoned. As for his senatorial career, he seemed like a mannequin made of fiberboard. Sure, he had the Right Stuff to become an astronaut, but he should have perhaps stayed in a career to which he was suited, rather than become a corrupt puppet of the corporate establishment, and of course a minion of the military industrial complex. Houston, we have a problem indeed.

Am in complete agreement with Roach on Glenn. There are some bad acts lingering behind his legacy, but with that noted, the man accomplished more heroic and positive actions in his lifetime than most people. LTS is a giant contrarian tool, who has accomplished nothing in his sad little, basement sheltered, driveled opinion spinning existence. While Sale has a bit more credibility, his negative crap for the sake of being a negative, angry contrarian asshole, is just as bad. Fuck both of you 'tards. Let us know when you've actually done something positive to contribute to society.

What a couple of stupid fucks. First off who gives a rat's ass about the messenger? Second, I didn't suck gov teet my whole life and then sell my constituents down the road. He sat in a metal tube a few times (possibly eh tart?) and then was a swamp rat in DC. He IS (was) the problem and fucks like you who are now sucking his dick are stupid fucking sheep.

I get that you're just trolling for attention Sale, but focusing on one aspect of a person's career and life, doesn't negate the whole. He was a hero, a pioneer and one of the finest astronauts ever to exist. That said, he did muck up his resume with the political ties. No apologies for any of that. I'm just saying you have to weigh the balance and at least appreciate the positive aspects of his achievements. He accomplished more than you ever will.
Here's a sample of his early career:
Glenn entered the Naval Aviation Cadet Program in March 1942. He graduated and was commissioned in the Marine Corps in 1943. After advanced training, he joined Marine Fighter Squadron 155 and spent a year flying F-4U fighters in the Marshall Islands. He flew 59 combat missions during World War II.
After the war, he was a member of Marine Fighter Squadron 218 on the North China patrol and served on Guam. From June 1948 to December 1950 he served as an instructor in advanced flight training at Corpus Christi, Texas. He then attended Amphibious Warfare Training at Quantico, Va.
In Korea he flew 63 missions with Marine Fighter Squadron 311. As an exchange pilot with the Air Force Glenn flew 27 missions in the F-86 Sabre. In the last nine days of fighting in Korea, Glenn shot down three MiGs in combat along the Yalu River.
Glenn attended Test Pilot School at the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, Md. After graduation, he was project officer on a number of aircraft. He was assigned to the Fighter Design Branch of the Navy Bureau of Aeronautics (now Bureau of Naval Weapons) in Washington from November 1956 to April 1959. During that time he also attended the University of Maryland.
Glenn was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on six occasions, and holds the Air Medal with 18 Clusters for his service during World War II and Korea. Glenn also received the Navy Unit Commendation for service in Korea, the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the China Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Navy's astronaut Wings, the Marine Corps' Astronaut Medal, the NASA Distinguished Service Medal, and the Congressional Space Medal of Honor.
In July 1957, while he was project officer of the F-8U Crusader, he set a transcontinental speed record from Los Angeles to New York -- 3 hours and 23 minutes. It was the first transcontinental flight to average supersonic speed.
All you do is defend drunks.
Case closed.

Again with the messenger smack? What the fuck is it with you and any grasp on logic?
Anyways, he few a flights in WWII and then spent the rest of his miserable life fucking that accomplishment up. That is the scales of good/bad for this guy. You like the taste of his dick because you are a sheep and I'm only a "contrarian" because there are so many dumb cunts like you.

I'm not defending Glenn's brushes with trouble ("Senators Glenn and McCain were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised "poor judgment""), but he did a hell of a lot more then just make verbose posts on an obscure board. LTS.
Same to you Moving Sale, except I think you are are just being your clever provocative self. Which is worth a small amount of cred.
Have a nice day.
So I'm attacked for making posts on this palsied forum? Wait a sec, you're a freakin'
moderator here, so what does that say about you? I mean by your confused standards.
As for Glenn, yes I acknowledged his astronaut career as being wholly positive and admirable. Okay, no one was suggesting he was a fake. But, as for his political career, it wasn't merely hollow, because his "poor judgement" was actually a very serious crime. Are you familiar with the details of the Keating Five scandal? It was in the
billions (back when that meant something), and the craven con game loosed upon thousands of retirees and pensioners was aided and abetted by Glenn and the others. They intervened to protect the villainous Keating, and never apologized. The only reason they weren't prosecuted was the old boy network in full force.

Keating destroyed lives and shitbags like Glenn and McCain protected him. That's pretty fucking despicable.

Regardless of his political career, that dude had a set of balls bigger than any chick Screwey's ever been with. I can't imagine being the first man to leave earth. That had to the most nerve racking, terrifying time of his life leading up to the launch.
Rack him.
