I've been hanging out at a madison bar and there is this crazy navy bastard that comes in. Today he tells me stories about covert operations and I play along and ask him military questions because I KNOW THE ANWSER and he always answers them correctly......

Anyhoo...again....for the second time....Every thing he says I can always verify. So today he is at the bar in downtown Madison and he is telling me about Jonestown. I tell him I know about jonestown and I remember watching it unfold when i was a kid at Thanksgiving dinner at Grandmas.

He told me that we went in and killed 200 Russians in Ghana and we needed an excuse for 200 dead russians....so the CIA came up with Jonestown. He told me that he evactuated Jim Jones to a safe spot. The whole thing was a CIA coverup for killing 200 russians.



I don't know....he started crying.....Is he lying? or is the CIA a killing machine or maybe BOTH????????

First, any operator that blabs in a bar isn't or wasn't an operator. That isn't to say that they aren't just as susceptible to adulation; it just means that a real spook isn't going to go into a bar and talk to strangers or near strangers about what they did. This is a corollary to "If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't."

Second, my father was sent to Jonestown after the bodies were discovered as part of the operation to identify and process of returning the remains to the US. The people who died there were largely US citizens from the San Francisco area associated with the Jonestown Temple. This was confirmed by the passports recovered at the site.

Next time you see him you should tell him about some fictitious operation you've been involved in where you stole a Russian submarine back in the '90's during an op called, oh, how about "Red November?" You were assigned to a top secret CIA group whose boss had the name Ryan Jackson. See if you can get him to buy you a few rounds of beer.
