In game thoughts...

Watson looks like a scared QB. Dude is pressing or something but needs to settle down.
The DL's on both sides are playing like All Pros.
The officials missed a crown of the helmet targeting, but have been solid besides that and calling an even game.
Play calling by Clemson has been a bit surprising. Going for it on 4th from the shotgun is a bad idea and the clock management going into the half was piss poor.

Nice job by the Clemson D after that turnover. Damn near impossible to beat Bama when you turn it over.

That wasn't a catch. Replay should take them off of that.
Also I don't know if we have discussed the graduate patch the SEC puts on grads uniforms, but I like it. Others do helmet stickers but I like the patch as part of the SEC logo.

Graduate patch?
What does one have to do to graduate from the "African American Studies" or "Sports Marketing" that I'm sure 90% of the team takes?
Spell their name correctly?
Watson got robbed of the Heisman, BTW.

Crown of the helmet to the facemask, not called.
Sweet helicopter, though.

35-24.
Bama's last TD was an absolute embarrassment. As Clemson dude went to tackle Hurts, and was violently tackled from behind... WTF? Not sure when they changed that rule to make that OK... oh, they didn't.
The refs should maybe be the subject of a RICO investigation... pathetic.
And Mike Williams is for reals.

Props to the Clemson. Down 14 to start. Down 10 in the 4th and to keep playing. Props.
Bama's DBs need work.
The last TD wasn't a pick or offensive PI. The earlier TD was for sure a pick and wasn't called.

Bama ran 66 plays.
Clem ran 99 FREAKING PLAYS and barely won.

That last play sure looked like the same play we debated from the ND/FSU game in 2014 where a pick was called.

Great game between the two best teams. Props to Clemson on a great season and a huge win to hoist the CFP trophy. Both teams could arguably be right back here next January.
Early on, it looked like Bama's D was going to be up in Watson's grill on every play but Clemson's offense is so dynamic, it's what kept them in it.

Even though that had no chance of happening (based on the Fiesta result), it would literally have had
no chance of happening. Clemson and Bama are on two different planes.
Though it was nice to see that tOSU's defense held Clemson to fewer points than Bama's D.

Go back and watch the final TD play again. Focus on the DB covering the widest receiver. This guy actually grabs the WR in a bear hug and pulls him towards the inside. Had the pass gone to that WR DPI would have been called.
Now the earlier TD was a clear pick in my book. Dude ran into the defender and then half assed put his hands up as if he were going to catch a ball. He initiated the contact and restricted the other db from continuing his pursuit.
